Washinton PostSanders transferred an additional $2.6 million from his other federal campaign accounts, the campaign said.
The third-quarter figures announced by the campaign rival his $26 million haul at this point in the primary campaign in 2015, when he stunned the Democratic field by nearly matching the total of his opponent, Hillary Clinton, with an infusion of money from donors giving less than $200. Yet this time, he is facing more than a dozen opponents.
One of them, South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, announced early Tuesday that his campaign raised more than $19.1 million in the third quarter less than Sanders did but an amount that gives him staying power in a crowded field.

(7,878 posts)...(e.g., his much vaunted email list), so, I don't see that as a good excuse. He had no competition on the left last time, but he still raised more money and still came in a distant second -- how is more competition and less fundraising this time around a good thing? It's not, and the polls are reflecting this.

(2,848 posts)Now there are many candidates to spread the money around. As the number of candidates dwindles his donations will increase. The constant bashing of Bernie and saying he is doing poorly and his time is up are greatly exaggerated and quite frankly wishful thinking for those opposed to Bernie.
