CNN has been pushing an offensive comparison between Donald Trumps treatment of the press and complaints by the Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders camps about the medias coverage of the Democratic presidential primary campaign, saying that Sanders and Biden are using Trumps playbook.
CNN Senior Washington Correspondent Jeff Zeleny first made the comparison about Sanders on Monday, tweeting that In NH today, @BernieSanders sounds a lot like @realDonaldTrump as he trashes Amazon: I talk about that all of the time and then I wonder why the Washington Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon, doesnt write particularly good articles about me I dont know why.
On Tuesday mornings edition of New Day, the network cast the net a bit wider. Co-host Erica Hill introduced a package featuring clips of Sanders and senior Biden adviser Symone Sanders by saying Former Vice President Joe Bidens campaign and Senator Bernie Sanders taking a page from the Donald Trump playbook.

Wine, water and (actual) red meat -- it's a Donald Trump press conference
(snip)
"You have to do what's right," Trump said, explaining why he refused to settle pending lawsuits against his defunct for-profit education venture, "and believe it or not, I'm a very highly principled person. If you live by principle, you're going to do very well."
For the friendly guests invited into the Election Night venue: servers walking around with champagne and wine glasses, along with a table stocked with cheese, charcuterie, fruit and cookies.
There was also a "step and repeat," the kind of banner backdrop typically seen behind movie stars on a red carpet. This one, of course, featured Trump branding.
The wine -- including bottles of rosé, Blanc de Blanc, chardonnay and a Meritage red -- is all featured online at the Trump Winery website.

That's "reality" T.V. not to be mistaken for serious journalism.

(37,748 posts)Sanders, rather than Biden (or any of the other candidates for that matter), is the only Democratic candidate blaming his poor polling data on the media rather than reflecting on the missteps his own campaign.
