Read this piece. I had no idea @KamalaHarris cleared the rape kit backlog for 8 counties or created a children’s justice bureau. That’s how you use your DA office. https://link.medium.com/fUfzyyCJTX

The attorney general of the wealthiest state in the country uses state resources to assist eight rural counties, of 58 in total, that are so small and poor they don't have crime labs and so by necessity depend on the state lad to handle their DNA cases. Congrats, she did her job.

Harris remains vehemently against justice reform She never met a prosecution she did not applaud. In her view, no prosecution can be wrong---despite the evidence of the Innocence Project. She never pursued a case against a police officer for misconduct. NEVER! She attempted to re-try ex-prisoners released by the evidence that they were wrongly convicted.

If she cannot admit of mistakes and error, she is arrogant and an impediment to progressive justice.

"Cyrus R. Vance Jr., committed $38 million in forfeiture money to help other jurisdictions test rape kits. Since the grants began being distributed in 2015, the evidence kits have led to 165 prosecutions in cases that were all but forgotten. So far, 64 of those have resulted in convictions."

"Rarely have public dollars from a local prosecutor’s office been so directly tied to results with such national implications. The initiative has paid to get about 55,000 rape kits tested in 32 law enforcement agencies in 20 states, among them the police departments in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Miami, Memphis, Austin, Tex., and Kansas City, Mo."

I think what Kamala Harris did was to bring justice to people who have been waiting too long to get it. I also think what Vance did was to bring justice to people who been waiting too long for it. From my point of view, you are using her success in clearing the rape kits, which other prosecutors have done as well, to bolster her political image. Otherwise, you would have posted this in the General rather than the Primaries Threads.

I was countering the politicizing one of Kamala Harris's successes during her career as a prosecutor. Your "outrage" is ill-placed.

.... positive or negative, and it's fine to post about her successes. I was just pointing out that she is not unique in that particular success as there are many prosecutors who are accomplishing the same thing, as for example, Mr Vance whose success in that endeavor covers not only his district, but has been helpful in several other states as well. That's all.
