Bernie Says He Doesn't Trust Polling Saying Trump Loses: Trump's Going to Be 'A Tough Opponent'

Bernie Sanders Says He Doesn’t Trust Polling Saying Trump Loses: Trump’s Going to Be ‘A Tough Opponent’

By Connor MannionJun 8th, 2019, 5:42 pm

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) says he isn’t relying on polling indicating President Donald Trump loses the election to him or loses key swing states.

“I know all of the polls say Trump is gonna be beaten,” the 2020 presidential candidate said. “And they have me ahead of him in Michigan and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin–battleground states.”

“Let me tell you, Donald Trump is going to be a very tough opponent,” Sanders said. “I think he is a pathological liar and he will say anything, he will do anything,” Sanders said.

Earlier this week, a Morning Consult poll found Trump’s net approval rating was negative in all of the above states Sanders mentioned, alongside Iowa and Ohio.

Despite that, a CNN poll released this week found that over half of the respondents believe Trump will win re-election in 2020. Out of over 1,000 respondents, 54% sad they believe Trump will win the 2020 election, while 41% believe he will lose.

Trump bullied his way to beat popular Republicans in their primary, and defied expectations that he would be a joke in the general.

Can he pull it off again? Hope not, now that the country sees what he really is.

But, he has proven that his one great talent is turning the conversation his way. He has no sense of shame and the curious ability to consistently repeat a lie no matter how obvious that lie is.

The point of his gish gallop is to exhaust you by bullying with words. That's not easy to counter, as many have found out.

Experience doesn't help against Trump, he is too non-traditional himself so he beat many experienced candidates.

I like Buttigieg who is running a values-oriented campaign that tries to ignore Trump's taunt's but he still can have a wicked comeback. I also like Warren who has a single-minded focus on policy. If she stays on message, she can beat Trump.
