He went on to knock Buttigieg for taking positions outside the mainstream on issues like abortion and reparations.

(13,934 posts)My take is he is trying to split the vote.. There are dem's that watch Faux noise.. If they are on the fence they will vote for someone Faux think is good. I believe Faux thinks Mayor Pete does not have a chance so push the dems on the fence to him.. YMMV

(13,934 posts)I'm not bashing Mayor Pete or any other candidate running for office. I'm undecided and will vote for any democratic candidate that will unseat the orange shitstain in office now. My point is what I stated, is that Hume is pushing people on the fence to the candidate who THEY think would split the vote. Who ever that may be. As always YMMV...

(13,934 posts)Joe Kennedy did it to help his son, young Jack Kennedy win in congress 1946..
JFK ran against a candidate named Joe Russo, and Russo claims that Joseph Kennedy deliberately split his votes. Allegedly, Kennedy paid a custodian whose name was also Joe Russo to run in the election. Voters, would get confused about which Russo was which, and hed split his votes in half. JFK won...

(12,638 posts)And on top of that, a GAY candidate.
Hume is certainly not a liberal, but i've heard him say many critical things about trump & thats a poison pill for the Right.
And his analysis of Mayor Pete was correct.

(32,755 posts)and Chris just asked the question about 3rd trimester abortions. Pete knocked it out the park. This guy is so damn smart. He will probably go down in history as one of the most effective communicators of his generation.
Edited to add: So Brit isn't saying that to trick us or f with trump. He's actually telling the truth: Pete is impressive as hell. That being said, I don't know if Pete is electable. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

(5,969 posts)someone praising someone else from the other political spectrum, it just may be an honest opinion. Pete is very impressive and intelligent, nothing what Hume said was false praise. We look ridiculous if we search for dark motives behind everything.
