Cornel West: Donít let media say youíre crazy because you donít support Hillary

http://politicsbreaking.com/cornel-west-dont-let-media-say-youre-crazy-dont-support-hillary/

Cornel West, a Sanders ally who is a member of the Democratic National Committeeís 15-person platform drafting committee, laid into Donald Trump at a Bernie Sanders rally in Washington, D.C., Thursday evening ó and hit at Hillary Clinton, too.

ďWe know that Trump is a narcissist neofascist. Ö Donít let corporate media convince you that simply because youíre not crazy about the milquetoast neoliberal sister Hillary that thereís something wrong with you,Ē said West, who was appointed to the platform drafting committee by the Vermont senator.

ďBut we know the difference between a neofascist and a neoliberal, so you make your own decision. Iím simply here to say that I love brother Bernie no matter what he decides, but youíre a free man and woman, make your decision based on your love for poor and working people.Ē

The rally came the same day that President Obama met with Sanders and then quickly endorsed Clinton. Following the meeting, Sanders said he would speak with Clinton about how to fight against Trump but declined to endorse her or drop out of the presidential race.

2. There Seems to be Growing Trend This Election

to analyze unconscious motives of supporters of Sanders, Clinton, Trump, or third-party candidates.

People have the right to their opinions, but it is disturbing when contributors to mainstream media questioning the motives or sanity of any candidates' supporters.

There was a Doonesbury cartoon in which the TV reporter Ron Hedley asked about a group: "Who are these people? What do they want from us? How are they different from you and me?"

The inability to recognize intelligent and decent conflict partners makes it difficult to evaluate one's own positions properly, and is in danger of turning NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN into Democratic versions of Fox, at least for this election cycle. It also

6. Good post. I'll take one exception though ...

NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN ALREADY ARE Democratic versions of Fox.

5. They'll dismiss us as crazy because it works.

It's an intentional tactic, they shame people into feeling embarrassed about supporting "liberal" and "leftist" reforms, terms that carry artificially created negative connotations for the same purpose.

It has always been effective, it's why we're associated with socialist dictators and the mythical violent left, it's why we're labeled as dirty hippie freeloaders and crazy conspiracy theorists.

Don't ever let them shame you into conformity.

Look how the cowards used it so effectively against Cindy Sheehan. No reason for them to stop now.
