In light of recent photo nuttiness...

A few weeks ago a pic of a civil rights march was being passed around with folks pointing out a Bernie looking dude in the frame. My gut was telling me that this was funky... a doctored photo? something fishy? It made me think of the phony Bush docs that were used to silence Dan Rather, but maybe now simply targeted at creating a social media shitstorm to make people wonder who was telling the truth. I didn't mention it at the time, because but now I'm less convinced that it's paranoia.

I understand your feeling, but I guess we have to keep asking ourselves, "WWRD?" valerief Feb 2016 #1

(the King photo, I'm assuming) and I still think it's a mistake to pass that around saying it's him without confirmation. Unless someone in the campaign has confirmed it, and I missed that.

Dan Rather came out with a lot of evidence suggesting that Shrub really was AWOL from his National Guard duties and that it was political juice that kept him out of the draft and Vietnam. The wingnuts seized on a letter that Rather displayed as part of the evidence supporting the allegation of desertion. Suddenly thousands upon thousands of internet keyboard warriors suddenly became expert on the kinds of fonts that electric typewriters had in the 1970s. They claimed that the font on the letter did not exist then.

This kind of manipulation is how the status quo hides itself and its activities. What makes it work is a network of shills ready to sing in unison whatever lie, half truth, distortion or deflection that headquarters dictates.

It is part of the deal for us to overcome that kind of crap. But it still sickening to contemplate the mindset of a shill.
