Help with https:// URLs, please.

At this link:http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002926689#post21 is my post with a 'corrected' link. Check the edits on my post for a fuller view of what happened.

I appears, something in the DU software(?) does not allow https:// URLs to be linked but only http:// URLs.

Any ideas? What am I missing?

4. For some reason the DU3 software turns normal https:// links into http:// links...

... but they should still work in a [link] tag.

For example...

[div style="margin-left: 2em; color:#000099;"][link:https://www.cia.gov/news-information/speeches-testimony/2012-speeches-testimony/in-q-tel-summit-remarks.html|your text here]
... should give you ...

[div style="margin-left: 2em;"]your text here

Or to get fancy you can use the text for the link in the link tag by replacing the first colon with : like this...

[div style="margin-left: 2em; color:#000099;"][link:https://www.cia.gov/news-information/speeches-testimony/2012-speeches-testimony/in-q-tel-summit-remarks.html|https[font style="background-color:#3366cc; color:#cccccc;"]:[/font]//www.cia.gov/news-information/speeches-testimony/2012-speeches-testimony/in-q-tel-summit-remarks.html]

Sometimes the link tag works and other times, meh, not so much.

I'll check out your link and I thank you for your reply. Sorry this is so long in coming. I've been busy in the "other" world.
