Tweets too long

Is it necessary to put Democratic underground AND @democraticunderground in the Tweets? I ALWAYS have to delete "democratic underground" to make it fit. Seems like one would be enough.

1. You should ask this is the 'Ask the Administrators' forum.

They are the ones that can make changes. Plus there is no guarantee they will see a thread over here.

(I suppose one could customize the tweet button using GreaseMonkey—or some form of user side scripting—if one were so inclined, but for most people the only way the tweet button function here will change is if the Admins edit some HTML code.)

3. Regarding the answer you received in ATA.

By default Twitter.com uses the html title of the webpage for their message text when you hit the "Tweet button" (for example the title of this page is "Tweets too long - Democratic Underground&quot , but the message text can be explicitly set by adding a data-text attribute to the twitter button anchor element. Like this:
