2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary Clinton's Kwanzaa Outreach Was UNSUCCESSFUL.
Hillary Clintons Twitter avatar took on a Kwanzaa theme on Saturday night, making her campaign logo into what appeared to be a kinara, the candle holder Kwanzaa celebrators use. Almost immediately, she received comments accusing her of tone deafness, and it wasnt long before a hashtag, #NewHillaryLogo, emerged to mock the Democratic candidates efforts to get the black vote.
Clinton wrote a happy Kwanzaa tweet to accompany her logo change, but she changed the logo back just a few hours later.
Despite the reversal, the #NewHillaryLogo hashtag had already caught fire:

Lol.
Her desperate pandering is cringe worthy, and it's not winning the hearts and minds of prospective voters.

But if AA twitterites are angry let them tweet.

Thanks for the laughter team Hillary!

Here is the equation:
Clinton will do or say something nice, but take it back hours later, especially when her friends on the elite end of the economic layer want it taken down.

(2,074 posts)Should she have ignored Kwanzaa? That would also have led to "outrage."
This whole thread is silly.

(2,074 posts)Personally I think all this playing around with her logo is kind of silly. Keep it simple. But including Kwanzaa was not necessarily pandering. Only about 2 million people at most actually celebrate Kwanzaa, but it has become part of the December festive season, and if she had mentioned Hanukka and Christmas but left out Kwanzaa, she would have gotten flack for that as well.
