(50,342 posts)That's why I've had it with the DNC and that's why I sent more money to Bernie. The DNC only cares about one thing and it's not voters who haven't "fallen into line" with their agenda.

(45,319 posts)protecting the vendor who was paid to provide firewalls and security they did not provide at all. Why is she defending them why is she giving them our money to botch the job? Since October they were warned and they still could not maintain the parameters they contracted to maintain. But DWS really wants them to be retained, unquestioned and unpunished. Why is that?
It would look better if that vendor had not worked for Clinton 08. But they did.
The magic word is: discovery.

(12,882 posts)Those of us who DON'T have the funds to have maxxed our limits are the one's that Bernie speaks for, so it's tough for us to grasp YOUR dilemma. BTW, there IS a PAC you can throw bundles at - you knew that, Right?
Anyways, I did find another $25 to send to the Bern operation. And I can say without the slightest hesitation that the inspiration to do so is thanks to the DNC and the horse they're fielding. The Bern Bunch raises a toast to Deb 'n crew.

(39,215 posts)state level. I think I know but want to make sure we are thinking the same thing.
Chathamization
(1,638 posts)(which I hadn't mentioned, and should have)
State committee members are elected, and then the committee members elect officers, two of which are sent to the DNC. Voters also directly elect DNC members in primaries. If we wanted to change the DNC, we'd have to start paying attention to these elections and electing good candidates.
We also need to pay more attention to these elections, because I've seen the issues that have come up with the DNC play out with the state parties (trying to rig the election for their preferred candidate). Here we had a mess of a state party who decided to break their bylaws by suspending elections for two years (and they had real power, appointing people to fulfill the role of elected officials who vacated their office, or assisting certain candidates in their campaigns). When we finally did get an election, a large group of progressive activists challenged them across the board. They ran a fierce campaign based on reform (I even did some campaigning for them). No one paid attention, and the corrupt old guard was largely reelected. So if the DNC members are coming from people like that, I'm not terribly surprised by what they're doing.
jwirr
(39,215 posts)about. I am going to have to look into what we have here in MN although the man who is challenging DWS is from our state and I am very thankful for him.
I have always worked out front so I do not have a good working idea of what goes on behind the scenes.
Chathamization
(1,638 posts)great group of progressive activists. I joined up with them when they were working on a campaign finance ballot initiative, and through them got involved in a number of other progressive campaigns. Don't know if there's an active group in your area (or if it's any good if it exists), but it might be worth looking into.
jwirr
(39,215 posts)that they are heavily involved in this part of politics. That is okay with me though as for the most part, regardless of who they endorse, they are very progressive.
Note: I think the endorsements this year are more a way of protecting their backside if Hillary does win.
Chathamization
(1,638 posts)from certain progressive groups. The Working Families Party's endorsement of Cuomo is a good example. I'm not happy about, and I don't think it's a particularly good strategy, but groups can be pretty solid on progressive issues and candidates and still do it from time to time.
Still, my time and money will always go first to the groups who always stand by their progressive beliefs (like my local DFA group).

" Ive never voted for anyone who wasnt a democrat, and never will. I just wont vote this year if Barrack is the nominee, seriously, I would die before Id ever cast a vote for that fake. No one in my house will vote for him either. He cant win the GE anyway. What a waste of a perfect chance to take back the Wh."

It's not just the extreme smearing of the President as 'that fake' nor it is just your insistence that you would never, ever vote for him. It's mostly about the fact that you insisted he could not win the general election, which in retrospect has been proven to be extremely incorrect, twice.
So did you vote for Obama in 08 after all? How about those 'in your house'? Were you shocked when he won?
Another because it is so very telling:

(45,319 posts)It's amazing to me that that poster is so popular among the BOG posters. It's amazing to me that that poster has the stones to repeat the same very nasty, fully contrived attacks on both Barack and Bernie ostensibly to 'support Hillary'. This sort of verbiage does not really strike me as supportive of anything Democratic. It's more like using one candidate as a sort of duck blind from which to take extreme pot shots at another.

(4,280 posts)We were so angry with the DNC and I sent an email to them denouncing DWS and the DNC's irrational decision. This was a huge mistake on their part. My hope is that people will still go to the polls and vote, after this discouraging act.

(11,945 posts)and am actually thinking of raising it.
However, what I'm giving Bernie's campaign is in two separate monthly donations, both through ActBlue, and one always shows up on my statement as for ACTBLUE*BERNIE.SANDERS but the other one sometimes shows up that way and sometimes says ACTBLUE*DONATETODEMS. I need to clarify that with ActBlue, because I do not want to give one red cent to the DNC and certainly not to you know who.
I feel uneasy about ActBlue.
Fantastic Anarchist
(7,309 posts)Where can we find more information on that? I want to start sending recurring monthly donations.
senz

(11,945 posts)Fantastic Anarchist
(7,309 posts)Just as long as it gets to Bernie.
senz
(11,945 posts)The remainder is what I'm not sure of. But remember this, the vast majority of Bernie's contributors do it the way I did it: go out to the Bernie Sanders website and click on the "Donate" button which brings up the ActBlue form. So it's not like I'm some kind of outlier.
Also, I do not want to do it through DU. I'd rather go through the Bernie Sanders web site.
Either way, we have to go through ActBlue.
Fantastic Anarchist
(7,309 posts)Thanks for the information.
senz
(11,945 posts)I wish they were not the middle person between Bernie and his donors, but maybe that was easiest and cheapest for the campaign -- and they started out on a shoestring, so I understand. Also, when you donate, ActBlue will ask for a tip. You don't have to give it if you don't want to. If you do give it with a monthly donation, it will be taken every month as well.
Fantastic Anarchist
(7,309 posts)... but I actually donated on the Sanders' site. Then Omaha_Steve recommended I change the link. I edited the opening post to change the link to ActBlue after I had already donated.
I don't know why I forgot that. But it's still a good idea to find out. If you do, please let me know. If it's not confirmed, I may just change the link back.
