I dated his friend in HS (and later his older brother) and he was always fun, never particularly bright but affable enough to get where he is with a journo degree from a second tier state college. The last time I saw him (a few years ago) he had morphed into a pretentious know it all who is still not particularly bright.

the other guests were gobsmacked by her word salad. they could have rebutted if they could have figured out what she was saying. someone did get a chance to ask her why the the fed should stay out of personal liberties but it's ok for the state to do so.
