What was your overall impression from last night?

For me -

from Castro's speech, the phrase "they just don't get it" and the overall demand that everyone get a chance, not just those born to the wealthy and lucky.

From Michelle's speech - the phrase "it's not right" went straight to my gut - Obama gets it!

And now I'm hopelessly smitten with Mrs. Obama. Please don't tell her husband, he's a tough dude!

She needs to do something beyond "First Lady" after the Obama's are out of the Whitehouse. Doesn't mean she would want to, but she really has what it takes, the same way Hillary did/does. I could easily see her in the Senate.

It was warm but tough too. I think that what I'm most impressed about is that Democrats aren't hiding from and/or downplaying social issues this year- For once, the Dems are not being shy to fully embrace abortion rights, health care reform, and MARRIAGE EQUALITY! It couldn't be clearer which party embraces diversity more, not to mention which party supports equal rights for all.

I was to the right above the podium... best seat in the house... (The VP was above me) my impression is that the Democratic Party is REAL... delightfully diverse... inclusive... and I am in love with all the people and ideas... too many catch phrases for me to identify as favorite... in the house, (along with many others) Deval Patrick was hot, Julian Castro was Hot and Michelle Obama was HOT!!!

Overflowing energy, kindness and forward thinking ideas... I was up where all the private parties were taking place and the wealthy Democrats came through as well as people like me all were happy and positive...

"Mitt Romney proudly wrote an op-ed entitled, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt." If he had had his way, devastation would have cascaded from Michigan to Ohio and across the nation. Mitt Romney never saw the point of building something when he could profit from tearing it down. If Mitt was Santa Claus, he'd fire the reindeer and outsource the elves.

Mitt Romney has so little economic patriotism that even his money needs a passport. It summers on the beaches of the Cayman Islands and winters on the slopes of the Swiss Alps. In Matthew, chapter 6, verse 21, the scriptures teach us that where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. My friends, any man who aspires to be our president should keep both his treasure and his heart in the United States of America. And it's well past time for Mitt Romney to come clean with the American people.

On what he's saying about the president's policy for welfare to work, he's lying. Simple as that. On his tax returns, he's hiding. You have to wonder, just what is so embarrassing that he's gone to such great lengths to bury the truth? Whatever he's doing to avoid taxes, can it possibly be worse than the Romney-Ryan tax plan that would have sliced Mitt's total tax rate to less than one percent?"

Vision.

The Democrats got up their and embraced their vision of what the county is/can be/should be.

Unlike the Republican Convention, which continued to be about boosting fear of the government, of other Americans, of change, the DNC gave off a feeling of inclusion, of optimism, of VISION that the RNC just couldn't imagine.

Vision.

The Dems have it. And I LOVE IT!

The enthusiasm in the convention center was electric. There is an enthusiasm gap, but its between Republicans and Democrats. Kal's speech rocked the twitter world, I was following at the time to see how twitter and youth would react to it -- they went bonkers for it. Michelle's speech then sent twitter into a frenzy beyond anything else later that night.

The Republicans by comparison (both in the RNC and on Twitter last night) were bitter and morose.

Last night the Dems got the positivity back. I've seen it rolling forward so far today, and the 'Pubbies trying to tear it down negatively are getting steam rolled online.

at the RNC last week and those attending the DNC this week. An ocean of lily white, middle-aged and older people (with a dot here and there of color) last week and a melting pot of young, middle-aged and oldsters of all races last nite.

So tell me ... who really represents what America is all about???

For years we've been treated to 90% Republicans and Teabagger party assholes in the media. We've overdosed with hateful talk show hosts and listened to the Republicans whining and demanding and lying about everything Obama.

It was like getting a shot of life into my veins, and I'm talking about all those crowd shots too.

I cried more than once.
