Related: About this forumShe went to NASDAQ?
Is this is a misstatement? Clinton just said she went to NASDAQ in December 2007 to tell them to "cut it out" presumably regarding the subprime crisis. Given that NASDAQ is a stock exchange, I don't get why anyone would go there to complain about fraudulent loans and their securitization, especially since those securities weren't listed on an exchange.
So, is this just a misstatement? I've heard the story about her going to Wall Street back then before, but I don't recall a mention of NASDAQ. Did she mean to say something else and just said the wrong thing or is this a consistent claim?

(1,980 posts)The Justice Department, in particular, has done quite a bit of that. How's that working out in terms of reducing fraud and financial predation?

(8,767 posts)In all fairness, even though I'm a Bernie supporter, she did do what she said she did:

(1,980 posts)I thought she was speaking to the people at NASDAQ, rather than using it as a site for a speech. Thanks for the link.

(2,101 posts)Exactly what else could going to NASDAQ mean?
I don't know how I thought "I went to NASDAQ and I told them to cut it out" could mean anything but "I made a speech regarding foreclosures while using NASDAQ as a venue." Sheesh.

Colbert then moved on to Hillary Clinton, (portraying her as) a frustrated mom telling Wall Street bankers to cut it out and that they would have to go to bed without their cocaine if they dont shape up!
