Breaking on Politico: Trump to set his hair on fire tomorrow... and endorse Newt.. or maybe Mitt

Last edited Thu Feb 2, 2012, 10:12 AM - Edit history (2)

another update..

Word started leaking out in Las Vegas earlier that Donald Trump's "major announcement" is to back Newt Gingrich, and sources supporting the former House Speaker confirmed to POLITICO that was fhe case. The New York Times and the Associated Press, among others.

But by this morning, other sources said that Trump's endorsement may actually go to Mitt Romney, who Trump has been lobbied heavily to endorse for the last few weeks.

What a joke!

update...

Word started leaking out in Las Vegas earlier that Donald Trump's "major announcement" is to back Newt Gingrich, and sources are confirming it to POLITICO.

The announcement is expected to come at an 11:30 a.m. press conference tomorrow that The Donald is holding.

The move is a bit unexpected, since Trump had talked even within the last few days about how he may be compelled to run a third-party campaign of his own if he didn't see a Republican candidate who he thought could beat President Obama.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/02/trump-to-endorse-newt-113227.html

Does it get any better than this!!!

==========================

A 'major announcement' from Trump tomorrow

What it is exactly isn't clear.

But from Trump adviser Michael Cohen comes this statement:

Donald J. Trump will be making a major announcement tomorrow (Thursday, February 2, 2012) at 12:30 p.m. at Trump International Hotel & Tower, Las Vegas, Nevada. He will be arriving this evening at approximately 11:30 p.m. The announcement will pertain to the Presidential race.

Sources said last week that Trump was getting lobbied to endorse Mitt Romney in the GOP presidential race, but he's also continued talking about a potential run of his own as a third-party candidate.

Gawd I hope he runs third party. Can it get any crazier!

Romney was one of the first to say no to his debate and he was royally pissed off about it, I may be wrong but I think he would be more likely to run against Romney than endorse him. My guess is that he announces a third party run.

It boggles the mind that someone could think so highly of themselves (or better, think others do) and to this extent.

I mean, really - scheduling a press conference in advance (including crossing the continent on an aircraft) to make sure you have maximum RadarOnline/TMZ exposure?

Boggles...

who delights more in the debates and campaign ads than should be considered a reasonable response to entertainment.

My problem wasn't that he chose Noot (and am thrilled he did - as I am not ready for the Night of Long Knives to end) - my problem was the pomp and circumstance he chose to surround said "announcement".

It personifies everything that is wrong with the LIV in this nation that anyone even gives a shit.

That one guy from Saturday Night Live used to do the best impression I had ever seen of Trump.

By the way, even though Trump is going to endorse Noot, that weasel that Trump wears on top of his head is leaning towards endorsing Romney.

Be because his comments tarnish his electability

Not because they are worried he doesn't care about the poor.

The Republicans I know are concerned and upset that the country is going broke from helping
people who are bilking the system - taking government money
and being lazy. They think it's a huge portion of the budget
and growing in leaps and bounds - although in reality it's only
9% of the budget.

I remember the night when news broke that President Obama was going to make an important announcement late in the evening...
all the cable news networks had their cameras focused on Obama's podium at the White House for a couple of hours and before President Obama had the chance to come to the microphone to tell The USA and The World that Bin Laden was dead the reporters said it first.
That really pissed me off!
