Well, I think the co-founder of Pink Floyd says what a lot of Bernie supporters feel.
"She might become the first woman president to drop a fucking nuclear bomb on somebody," Pink Floyd co-founder says.

Roger Waters may not be a big fan of Howard Stern, but there's another wild-haired, outspoken, polarizing figure from New York's outer boroughs he does love: Vermont senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. "He's the only person in the race that I see with any credibility," says Waters. "He seems to speak the truth, far as one can tell at this point. He seems prepared to stand up against big money and the banks and stand up for the predicaments of minorities, the middle class and the working class in this country."
The British citizen cannot vote in the U.S. election, but he says that if he could, he'd "cast [his] lot" with Sanders. He says that Hillary Clinton is a "far better alternative than any of the Republican candidates by a long, long way," but he still has severe reservations about her. "Hillary worries me," he says. "I have an awful worry that she might become the first woman president to drop a fucking nuclear bomb on somebody. There is something scarily hawkish about her, and she has that politician look down of, 'You are never going to get a word of truth out of me.'"
Many Democrats say that if Sanders is nominated, it will hand the election to the Republicans because the Vermont senator is so radical. "It is true that people become marginalized if their politics appear too far to the left," he says. "That is why I admire Sanders. When he speaks the truth, he sounds very left-wing, but that is because we have been fed this right-wing bullshit by the whole of the mainstream media since the Second World War. And it has gotten worse and worse and worse, and the outlets for dissenting voices have become fewer and fewer. So he is bound to sound out of step, because he is! And that is what is so good about him."
That hawkish stance scares many people. In fact, back in September, Salon published an article on it.
Its worth remembering that while Clinton infamously voted to invade Iraq, of course, she was also notably trigger-happy during her time at the State Department. These days, youre more likely to hear about Benghazi when the topic of Clinton and Libya comes up, but far more important was the key role she played in pushing for intervention there in the first place. (A now laughably laudatory Washington Post article from 2011 called it Hillarys war.) Referring to Muammar Gaddafi, Clinton infamously crowed, We came, we saw, he died, which, no matter what you think of him, is quite a thing to say about the brutal killing of a political leader. Years later, its clear that the decision to go into Libya was an epic mistake. The country has essentially ceased to exist.
Its not just Libya, though. Almost every time there was an internal disagreement within the Obama administration about whether to use force, Clinton could be found on the interventionist side. She successfully pushed for an escalation of the war in Afghanistan, and has been open about her desire to intervene further in Syria. While you cant draw a direct correlation between the two, its nevertheless intriguing that so many of the Obama administrations major diplomatic successes have occurred in the years since Clinton departed.
Given the fact that many of the interventions Clinton has backed over the years have been historic disasters, can we expect to see her called to account for her decisions? Unlikely. When elite media outlets arent pushing for ever-wider wars, theyre homing in on irrelevant distractions. You can bet that the number of times Clinton has to talk about Benghazi will dwarf the number of times she has to defend her initial call to invade, and thats a real shame, because Clinton has some very big questions she needs to answer.

Is that the new excuse now? As Hillary becomes more "popular", attacks will grow? So basically swipe everything under the bus and cue in that? Gotchya. Sounds legit.

(99,710 posts)No, providing me with the same stimulus, i.e. bashing Hillary Clinton is going to elicit the same response, every time from me, in the form of thinly veiled derision and contempt. What part of that don't you understand? Do you expect hosannas?
Seeing pizza makes me hungry every time...
Seeing my girlfriend unclothed, well you know where this is going, that whole stimulus and response thingey...

(5,761 posts)what Katie Perry says?

(146,288 posts)Besides, she's just voicing her support and providing some entertainment.
As for her opinion about politics, I don't care one bit. She has the exact same number of votes as I do, and really has no competence in political matters. I think it's nice that she's lending her support to Hillary Clinton. I'd sing for a Hillary event myself, but my days of performing are long over and I no longer do that in public. Besides, nobody's ever heard of me as an entertainer, except a few people who remember me from the early 1960s or a few appearances as a bass soloist in Handel's Messiah. I could count all of those I know about on my fingers.
Katy Perry has her talent to contribute in support of a candidate. That's all she has, but she's contributing it. Good for her. I don't think she's writing opinions about political issues, though.
I assume she will cast her vote for Hillary. That's a good thing. We should all vote for the candidate of our choice. British citizens can't do that, so I don't really care about their opinions on our presidential race.

(5,761 posts)but at the same time when logical arguments are made, no matter where your country of origin, education, knowledge and information is priceless. Just because someone may be from somewhere else, doesn't marginalize their POV and if anything, it can be quite the opposite. It can be un-tainted.
This is why I prefer my news sources coming from the BBC, Deutsche-Welle and Al Jazera America than other stations.
That's a GOOD thing!
Outside views can be incredibly valuable.

(146,288 posts)I follow a wide range of news sources, including some international ones. My goal is finding facts, not opinions. I'm capable of forming my own opinions, and am competent to do so.
I rarely read any published opinions, regardless of the source. I use my own mind and demonstrated facts to form my opinions.
Right now, the pertinent facts indicate that Hillary Clinton has the best chance of being elected. She is a Democrat. I support Democrats to be President. That's my preference, based on my opinion that Democrats are better Presidents than Republicans in terms of progressive action.
Your opinions are yours, and you are welcome to them.

(5,761 posts)MSM is slanted, all of it. Left or right, pick it.
Finding unbiased sources can be difficult but it's out there.
I disagree with you that Hillary is the best candidate and I feel many of her ideas are band-aids. One such example is education and how students and families would still have to pay. Sanders plan wouldn't allow that.
Ole!

(146,288 posts)No U.S. President is going to just drop nuclear weapons on anyone, to begin with. It's not going to happen. He also apparently doesn't know about her entire record of voting as a Senator. It's almost identical with Sanders' during the period when they were both Senators.
So, I'd say he's pretty clueless about US politics, in general. His opinion is pretty much worthless.

War hawks like Hillary scare people around the world and a they scare a whole lot of people right here.
It is the main reason why she lost the last election and why she will lose this one also.

Thats the big problem for me. For fucking anyone paying attention it is clear her bellicose tones and interventional nature is going to get us sucked in to some goddam war and I am so sick of it.
In my opinion Roger Waters is one of the most astute musicians in modern music.
