I like many of his positions, but he always yells.

Eh. Not a fan of the yelling.

ETA it was fun riff of the sanders SNL parody which I loved.

Hitting the usual high notes. Taking one of the more explicit shots against Clinton I've heard him make about the TPP, saying it never was the gold standard and he didn't support it yesterday, doesn't support it today, and won't support it tomorrow. I wonder if he'll mention the Iraq War.

One little note: I do think it's amusing to think that Burlington, Vermont, a town of 42,000 people, had special interests and a political establishments to fight against.

Surprising amount of time spent on his past and his record. Not as much on his proposals and the future. Perhaps he thinks everyone already knows them.

Good response from the crowd.

I guess "actions, not words" is his theme. Has it always been?

I think we'll hear more about guns here than we did with Sanders.

Democrats hold a super majority in Illinois congress, and we could hardly get anything accomplished even when we had a Democrat as governor.

He's the one that really holds the power. He's awesome at getting and keeping Democrats elected (the famous Chicago machine). Unfortunately watching Democrats in Illinois is kind of like watching the Republicans in the US house. The only thing they can agree on is that they never agree on anything.

Now with Bruce "wannabe Scott Walker" Rauner as governer, the entire government has ground to a halt with no budget, which is only slightly worse than it normally runs (I say with limited sarcasm, I know the shutdown is hurting people).

Good reprisal of his well-received closing statement from the debate.

The "actions, not words" theme works well with his description of his record about college tuition, public education, immigration, and guns. Did not seem to overly use gun control to contrast himself with Sanders.

Huge applause from the crowd.

Mentions the couple who lost their daughter in Aurora, CO, and the law that gave the gun industry immunity. Not mentioning anyone else by name, but his implication is obvious.

Oops, now he has mentioned Sanders and Clinton by name, but only to ask them to join him, not to criticize them.

I hope he gets more attention in coming months.
