Dem Debate: Martin O'Malley Stands Up to the NRA

Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley go back and forth on gun control in the Democratic debate.

O’Malley touted his record in Maryland on guns and said “the NRA gets its way in our Congress.”

Sanders said “raising our voices” is not good enough and that rural states like his have different views on guns than urban states.

O’Malley shot back that it’s possible to respect hunting traditions while passing gun reform by “leading with principle, not by pandering to the NRA.”

Sanders said, “You have not been in the United States Congress!”

O’Malley shot back, “Well, maybe that’s a healthy thing.”
