2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary's much better in the debate stage than she is on the stump.
*I say this as someone who is neutral towards the top two polling candidates (but naturally would support any of the candidates** as nominees)
I must confess, I haven't been all that impressed with her stump speeches. I watched her announcement speech and she just came off rather wooden in my opinion. I think she talks wa-a-ay t-oo-o s-loo-owly. Perhaps I'm holding her to unrealistic standards because her husband was so good and natural in any speaking setting.
However, in the debate setting, she's so much better. Night and day. She's engaged, she's quick to her feet, she's polished, she's natural, she's presidential.
Just a personal observation. No one read tea leaves here 'cause there's nothing to read.
**Yes, even Jim Webb. Reluctantly.

(3,261 posts)I think Obama's victory in 2008 caused people to forget how good she was - it was a close primary fight for a reason.

(231 posts)And for Bernie the opposite seems to be true -- he's much better on the stump than he is in debate. Bernie Sanders would be my first choice for President, but as a debater Hillary is eating all their lunches tonight. She's poised and articulate, and did I mention poised? She's just damn good at this.
God I'd love to see her debate Trump.
