Obama logo painted on a barn in Ohio.

Loganway farms is about ten miles north of me in the rural town of Kinsman, located in Northern Trumbull County. The farm is a family owned business that has worked thousands of acres here in NE Ohio since the turn of the last century. One can drive down SR5 for miles and miles and still see the gently rolling acres of Loganway farms on both sides of the road.

One member of the Logan family, Joe Logan, painted his barn with the Obama sunrise logo back in 2008, and that design still stands today, but with the help of volunteers Joe added the "Forward" design to the side this weekend:

According to Logan: "Independent farmers, ranchers and crop providers have benefited under the Obama administration.

"And what we clearly need is for policies to be put in place that allow those people to prosper and frankly we've seen Barack Obama and this administration take a number of initiatives to try and reduce the consolidation and the vertical integration that often challenges farms to be successful," Logan said.

He said he's pleased that the Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate has been able to pass a farm bill, but is upset that the Republican-led U.S. House has failed to get legislation passed.

Joe Logan is a fifth generation farmer. His grandfather raised this barn in 1911. I'd say he also raised his family with an equally sturdy sense of values.

I think I'll drive up there tomorrow to get my own pictures.

Ohio sometimes screws up, but anything is better than Texas. Where are you from? I was born in Steubenville, spent some time outside Canton, and lived in Cleveland from 1981 to 1992. I miss that town and I miss autumn. I had to help move some things from the daughter's house last night. At 11 pm it was still 95. That wears on a body after a while.

I changed the title line to make sure no one thought he was going door to door painting farmer's barns for votes. LOL

Would like to see this up close and meet the owner. Should of known the Tribune teabaggers would throw some outrageous comments over this.

I'm in the Sharon/Hermitage area, not too far from you. I will have to take a drive up there to see this! With so many in the rural areas here so Republican, this is refreshing.
