winning AA votes? Why not simply look at his progression in polling among AA voters/likely voters? You'll know he's "making inroads" when his polling numbers start picking up. And, tbh, I think they have been picking up, just not as quickly as his numbers with white, latino, asian voters so far. Somebody had posted links to a a set of polls that you could interactively impose filters on to see all of the cross tabs. That would be a good start.
