Like so many Americans, Hillary is having to make do with less

Hillary's too modest to make a big deal about these kinds of things, but did you know that the bungalow that she and Bill are renting for this summer's vacation will cost HALF of what they spent last summer?

http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/real-estate/clintons-drop-100k-three-week-hamptons-rental-article-1.1895360

And there's no email server on the premises. The Secret Service did a sweep to make sure.

All of this is Hillary's way of making it crystal clear that she feels the same pressures as you Proles, and she's leading through ACTION, not TALK. She's one of you. And so am I. I even capitalized Proles as a sign of respect.

Of course, because of you people and your fickle "voting preferences", Hillary can't enjoy her well-deserved rest - she back on the campaign trail early, saving America from creeping Socialism:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/22/us/hillary-clinton-will-interrupt-vacation-to-campaign-in-midwest.html

So can you people get it through your heads already that we totally care about income inequality, and all the rest of that crap you Lefties are fixated on? Like you, we also want to fix the Democratic Party. We too want to know how our party became Wall Street's plaything, and once Hillary's in office she's committed to launching an investigation to get answers.

So enough of your obsession with a man whose hair care costs less than $10 a week, and who probably doesn't even rent a summer cottage. Just say "no" to Socialistsplainin', and "yes" to the woman whose life is exactly like yours.

Regards

Third-Way Manny

and his billionaire friends donate to politicians.

It appears that billionaires like the Reality TV Star spend some of their money on politicians' campaigns because they actually get something in return.

That should be no surprise, Billionaires don't throw their money away without expecting some kind of return on their investment.

Which is also what Joe Biden said recently. That we MUST make the 'corrosive, corrupting effect of money on our electoral system the #1 issue of this campaign' because, Biden said, agreeing with Bernie actually, 'if we do not end this practice, NOTHING ELSE can get done'.

He even told us not to even trust him, no matter how much we may like him, because he said, 'trust me, even the best intentioned person can be corrupted by that money'.

So there you go, I'm sure Donald's donations are pretty much pocket change to HIM, though most likely a full year's salary to the rest of us.

Still, you asked, I answered.

Bill and Hillary epitomize the American dream. Unlike the first three in that list (and most Republicans), Hillary and Bill have dedicated their wealth to making lives around the world better via the Clinton Foundation and furthering the goals of more economic fairness, environmental protection, AIDS prevention and treatment, etc. unlike the Koch Brothers, or Trump Organization, or Bush Inc.

In six years as a member of the Wal-Mart board of directors, between 1986 and 1992, Hillary Clinton remained silent as the world's largest retailer waged a major campaign against labor unions seeking to represent store workers.

Clinton has been endorsed for president by more than a dozen unions, according to her campaign Web site, which omits any reference to her role at Wal-Mart in its detailed biography of her.

It was to be a TWO week vacation...but of course there were fund raisers to attend but those count as being stressful.

And now she has to face some little Americans at some kind of "events"...by invitation only most likely.

Sigh...

Too bad, so sad.

The only thing that could make it better is if it ends up on the greatest page right next to one of those posts insisting that Bernie supporters really care about policy. If that happens, DU might end up in the Guinness Book for greatest irony.

for Bernie's rapidly-growing support, other than identification with his policy and positions on the issues?

Or are you proposing that a significant number of Democrats hate Hillary so much that they would turn to another candidate despite disagreeing with him on the issues? Do you really think Hillary is THAT unlikable? Because I have read that the Republicans are anxious to run against her, as polling suggests her unlikable numbers are off the charts.

More like perpetual nonsense. His posts reminds me of the Daily Mail. A lot of convoluted efforts to attack the Clintons because they have to feed the cravings of their RW readership. Around here, it's the opposite. The attacks are quite similar, but from a different perspective. The DM was also rending their vestments over the house the Clintons' rented in the Hampton's.

Roosevelt and Kennedy were far wealthier than the Clintons. As for Sanders, I don't care if he paid $10 or $100 for a haircut. A candidate's net worth is inconsequential, as far as I'm concerned. BTW, the Clintons were the poorest couple to enter the WH since Truman. Just saying, since you seem soooo concerned about their wealth..........

So, where did all this money come from? By her own admission they were broke when they left the White House. She was a Senator for 6 years or so, then SofS for 4. The pay isn't bad but it isn't enough to afford a rental mansion @ $50,000 a week.

And Bill Clinton can't practice law anymore since he's been disbarred. And yet they have managed to accumulate a net worth north of $20 million. Don't say its from "hard work". Nobody seriously believes that giving speeches at $250k a pop is hard work.

There's only one conclusion; these people sold their position for financial gain.

The money came from the advances and royalties paid for their books. Also from Bill's speeches, and after she left public office, from her paid speeches too.

They made their money the old fashioned way, they earned it.

Nobody is saying former presidents have to take a vow of poverty, but the way the Clintons have snarfed up money over the past decade is unseemly at best.

Making speeches to fat cats and putting your name on ghost written books is not what most Americans would call earning it.

In the article that Manny linked to, they said the house the Clintons were staying at is owned by a wealthy art collector.
If his house was on the market, it is estimated that the house would sell for around $18 million dollars.

From the article ---

The Clintons are hitting the beach.

Former President Bill Clinton and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are slated to arrive in the Hamptons hamlet of Amagansett Thursday, where they're renting a palatial home owned by private art collector Andre Nasser and his wife Lois.

{snip}

The five-bedroom home, at 44 Broadview Rd., overlooks Gardiners Bay and Gardiners Island and would sell for up to $18 million were it to come on the market, Fleetwood wrote.

Well let's see...

In 1980, Hillary was a solid Democrat

Her connections within the Democratic Party garnered her an appointment by President Jimmy Carter to the board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation in 1978. From mid-1978 to mid-1980, she served as the board’s first female chair.

http://www.allgov.com/officials/clinton-hillary-rodham?officialid=28859

I'm betting she voted for Carter..

Mondale endorsed HRC's presidential run in 2008, odds are she voted for him in 1984. See...because again, she is a Democrat. Has been for decades.

As far as POTUS is concerned, read his book.

Neither voted for fucking Reagan.
