http://www.bostonherald.com/news_opinion/national/2015/08/sanders_lets_civil_rights_activists_open_la_campaign_eventUpdate: BLM did not open for Sanders, his press secretary did.
I can't find a name of any BLM representative that spoke - but a lot of references to one.
Amazing, how the interview of the Seattle BLM representative just came out...
On edit: If anyone can provide the name of the BLM representative that is being reported as opening the Los Angeles Rally please do so.
BLM seems to be a pretty radical group so of course I'm sure they'd love to make BLM synonymous with Bernie Sanders.

(8,352 posts)It started as a decentralized social media response to Zimmerman's acquittal. As it has evolved, organically 'leaders' or at least 'spokespersons' have emerged. Unfortunately, these have been an embezzler in Phoenix and now a violent, extremist, fundamentalist extremist. And several of the founders are A-OK with that. So if this continues, BLM will be tagged an extremist movement with very inappropriate leadership. That saddens me greatly!

Wow. Major fail on their parts. I noticed the RawStory article that was posted earlier had it's story changed to "Black campaign activist opens massive Bernie Sanders rally in Los Angeles"

Read her bio and you'll see why there was some confusion:

Trust me, I give no sway to our media these days. Having been a reporter for years, I think the profession has gone down the tubes, but, in this case, the fact that she had been loosely associated with BLM might have caused this confusion.
