2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat is the real reason Prof John Eastman is calling for Justice Roberts resignation?
I saw this post in LGBT regarding the upcoming Supreme Court case regarding same-sex marriage: http://www.democraticunderground.com/113716971
Now check out the stuff below...

John Eastman
... As of September 22, 2011, Eastman is the Chairman of the Board of the National Organization for Marriage, a non-profit organization committed to preventing the legalization of same-sex marriage ...

And I am not familiar with the website on the following link: http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/8/4/95326.shtml
but the article is interesting regarding Roberts helping in a gay rights case.
So, perhaps the real reason Eastman wants Roberts off the court is because of the upcoming 'same sex marriage' cases coming to the Supreme Court and not because of the 'health care ruling'. In my opinion Roberts will probably vote with the liberal justices
What say ya'll?

(14,765 posts)What a shitty organization that is. Who gives a shit why those bigots want Roberts gone, they are just throwing a temper tantrum because the ruling is not what Eastman and his ilk wanted.
Bigoted organizations like NOM should be ignored and left for dead in a ditch some where.
Justices are not given a seat on the SC to implement their religiosity and ideologies, they are there to rule judgements based on the constitutionality of the law in question, that is it.

(14,177 posts)Roberts rules that same sex marriage can't be outlawed anymore. I think he might, this one might even get a 6-3 in favor.

(1,448 posts)in background to prepare arguments for the SCOTUS case Romer v. Evans (1996), which was an important legal victory for gay rights. Roberts knows the constitutional basis for gay rights better than anyone in USA. And, if he wants, he can give Eastman a good ol' public spanking and then vote with the Liberal Four.

Currently the freepers are calling Roberts a 'traitor', imagine if Roberts' vote was the deciding one in striking down DOMA, etc. - it would really push them over the edge
