For those underestimating Bernie's ability to win the Democratic Party's nomination, don't forget

Truman defeated Dewey.

And, Truman did not have the power of social media behind him. Truman just "gave them hell" by speaking the truth in a way that people understood.

Bernie is doing the same, and he has the power of social media behind him. And, if you doubt the power of social media to affect real change: Two words: "Arab Spring." We all can add more examples, but that's enough to make the point.

If I were Hillary Clinton, or one of her supporters, I would not be feeling comfortable right now. Rather, I would be acting as if I were the underdog.

Something tells me it is going to be a long primary campaign ahead!

Polling showed Dewey winning by 5 to 15 percent. Democrats used those polling numbers to motivate their GOTV efforts. Truman went on his Whistle Stop tour and drew huge crowds, speaking unvarnished truth. And all of that was in the face of a split within the Democratic Party. Don't forget that Truman even won despite a third party run by the then Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond who won several southern states.

Do not underestimate the power of speaking the truth without hedging.

Nate Silver did an article on this very subject years ago, about how very much better polling in the U.S. is today.

in 2012, the GOP were doing the whole "Dewey Defeats Truman" thing too. They were also wrong.

That's an indication of increasing levels of worry and stress.

I get why neo-liberal Democrats would be frantically scrambling for every way they can to bully, marginalize, patronize, ridicule, and mislead.

When the attacks begin resembling the klown kar, we must be doing something right.

A Republican congress and Senate that would work with Dewey toward a more business friendly government. The people, however, were upset over union busting legislation like the Taft-Hartley act. I see a lot of parallels between Sanders and Truman and today's election environment compared to then.

Truman got a majority Democratic House and Senate.

Point than it does yours. But, I will agree to disagree with you. I think you are underestimating the unrest. And, I think that Bernie and Harry have a lot in common. And, BTW, I also think that those who "liked Ike" will love Bernie.
