What is the single most important issue that you require the Democratic Nominee to address?

Obviously most of us vote on more than one issue, but if you had to pick one, what would be your #1 issue?

My number one issue is Regulating Wall Street; but I can definitely understand how that might not be it for everybody.

Well, *ultimately* it's going to be climate change, whether we like it or not. But of course... villager Jul 2015 #1

...economic restructuring ties in to that, and social/racial justice ties in to that...

The whole paradigm, in other words, is going to have to shift, if the species is to have even a slight chance to save itself....

But I also think people can also narrow it down to what they are most interested in hearing the candidate address. That doesn't mean that they don't care about other issues, or only want the President to handle that one issue; it just means that if the candidate fails to address that issue, they will be disastisfied.

The war on women has always been a priority for me but I realize it's not just about me.

There's wars being waged against others too, and they're just as important.

I think they are all interconnected.

I have 6, in no particular order.

Economic Justice

Social Justice

Climate Change: NOW.

Political reform: 100% publicly funded elections, with no donations, PACS, etc. and some sort of IRV system, just to start.

Educational reform: banning high stakes testing, getting rid of all forms of privatization, fully funding of all mandates, and universal, 100% free public education pre-school - trade school or university. *This one really fits under both social and economic justice, but as a public school teacher, I want more attention, and more immediate action on these specific things.

Racial justice: this particular facet of social justice is critical. It deserves full attention and immediate action.

I don't have a single most important child. I don't have a single most important friend, or student, or family member. I don't have a single most important movie, or book. Neither do I have a single most important issue. I think we can address multiple issues at once, and I expect anyone who receives my vote to do so.
