LITTLE ROCK The Hillary Rodham Clinton Childrens Library and Learning Center, set on a six-acre campus here, is about a 15-minute drive away from the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.
In between are the state capitol and the governors mansion, now controlled by Republicans, who also hold all six of the states seats in Congress.
In some ways, Clinton never left the state where she served as first lady for 12 years, as she has already etched her name in Arkansas history. In others, shes an outsider the Democratic front-runner for president in a state that has moved sharply Republican in recent years.
Clinton returned Saturday evening to try to turn things around. She was the featured speaker at a Democratic fundraising dinner, telling some 2,000 people that Democrats are in the future business during a speech in which she emphasized her campaign theme of helping the middle class, slammed her Republican opponents, including Donald Trump, and called on Democrats to enlist candidates to take on Republicans.
The visit highlighted Clintons effort to fortify and revitalize state and local Democratic parties as she runs for president, including in areas where victories have been hard to come by in recent elections.

(9,089 posts)Like Bernie in Phoenix last night any advances we as a party make in red states is major.
We have a strong lineup and a common message that is well received around the country.
I'm proud of all our candidates. We can work for our individual favorite but in the end it's
the core progressive ideals that will win the presidency.
