Martin O'Malley... thoughts?

I think I love this guy... but I am sure some of you know a few things I don't know. Tell me what you think of him, and please educate me on the things I don't know.

Lame thread I know... just desperate for more knowledge besides the usual Wikipedia and Google searches.

His issues and controversies are pretty weak to me at least. I feel like he is going to go places and I am deciding if I am into that (he was on Chris Matthews today).

So far everything I have seen of him, I really like. I would love to know more about him as well...so hopefully some MD DU'ers will enlighten us.

I'm hoping he runs in 2016, if Hillary doesn't.

Just look at the congressional redistricting, for example.

He seems upbeat and youthful, well-spoken, good tone.

he's a very handsome man and a talented musician.

Speaking of VA's governor, there are several YouTube segments between O'Malley and McDonnell where O'Malley takes it him so hard that McDonnell actually squirms in his chair.

O'Malley is awesome!

I take that as a strong positive.

Seems like a good Gov, good guy. Still fairly young at 49.

Obama was re-elected President while doing worse than Dukakis in much if not all of the cultural south. Yes he won Florida (by a tiny tiny margin) and Virginia, but that was due to voters in south Florida and northern VA respectively, neither of which are culturally southern places.

Not not just because of his singing voice but if DU finds it hard to find a negative I'd say he's a winner!

Also... and probably not so thinly veiled as I'd like... swoon
