‘Just ridiculous:’ Internet condemns CNN for firing Donna Brazile while keeping Lewandowski on payroll

-snip-

CNN’s decision to fire Brazile for her ties to the Clinton campaign rang hypocritical to many who noted that Corey Lewandowski remains on the network’s payroll. CNN has faced significant criticism since hiring Lewandowski in June, after news broke that the former Trump campaign manager continued to receive severance pay from the Trump campaign well into his time as a CNN contributor. Earlier this month, Lewandoski was even spotted low-key traveling with the Trump campaign, going to great lengths to conceal his identity from fellow members of the media.

Monday, people took to Twitter to attack the network for its blatant hypocrisy in firing Brazile.

When it comes to the media, progressives are held to a much higher standard than conservatives.

Fucked up all the way around.

For CNN, he is a golden goose. Why should he fire Lewandowski. The Entertainment Information Media cares only about profits.

it's about the emails that revealed she shared debate questions with the Clinton campaign in advance of several debates. THAT is a big problem and CNN took action. With that said, I believe that neither Brazile OR Lewandowski have any business in the employment of a news organization.

come from the Podesta emails -- they are his, they are real, even he admitted that. Once you start digging down into the various emails it becomes quickly clear they are authentic -- CNN thinks so, and the emails in question were mentioned in their statement about her resignation. As with the WJ Clinton impeachment hearings and Benghazi report, I decided to dive in and look at the documentation first hand because I don't trust any media outlet's interpretation on anything this important. Let's just say that the emails make the political machinations and backbiting of "Veep" look more like a documentary than comedy show.

I'm sure if Bernie's people could have gotten the question ahead of time, they could have. Also, it's dumb on CNN's part to let the question get in her hands in the first place.

23. "Criminalizing the mundane" when it comes to PoC/women/etc
Tue Nov 1, 2016, 02:05 AM
Nov 2016

as Joy Reid spoke about a few days ago wrt to Comeygate.

If a well respected veteran Dem operative like Brazille did do what is alleged (and we can never really know, hackers are criminals who often alter documents) that is mild (and mundane) compared to what goes on in most campaigns. Same with DWS, Hillary etc. Criminalizing the mundane when it comes to certain types/groups of people. You don't think Lewindowski has done far worse? What about Jeff Weaver? Would love to see their emails.

Ever notice that when a PoC/female/gay etc makes it in this world by playing by the standard rules of the system, all of a sudden those rules become wrong? That the far-left and far-right (which are mainly comprised of self-righteous whites) suddenly cry about "standards" (that they themselves don't follow)?
