David Gergen made a good point on CNN

He said that Comey needs to enlist a bunch of manpower and work on this email stuff 24/7 and come up with some type of answer within 72 hours.

Other commenters noted that based on the wording of Comey's memo to FBI agents, he does not currently have access to the emails:

Yesterday, the investigative team briefed me on their recommendation with respect to seeking access to emails that have recently been found in an unrelated case. Because those emails appear to be pertinent to our investigation, I agreed that we should take appropriate steps to obtain and review them.

actually been doing what that jerk should have done in the first place:

1. These did NOT involve any emails to or from Hillary
2. These did NOT involved Hillary's email server
3. The emails in question are involved in the Anthony Weiner investigation, his computer and his wife's cell phone.
4. It is absolutely a false statement that the email investigation has been reopened.

That is all that needed to be said, and this jerk, who is the FBI Director made sure that his memo was vague, general, and absolutely said nothing, but implied a set of things that totally distorted the facts.

He needs to be fired for this garbage

he is doing to Hillary this cycle what he did to her and Bill 20 years ago.

Only fucking democrats would do this "poor guy is in a tough spot" bullshit.

Republicans have REPEATEDLY run off people who were simply doing their job straight up. If there was a D who had participated in an trumped up investigation of an R POTUS candidate 20 years earlier in a similar position now that person would be evicerated by them AND THE MEDIA.

Are you crazy? If Comey says nothing more then this leaves a cloud of suspicion over Clinton. Fox News and Republicans can say anything. Clinton can't respond because there are no charges or claims.

Comey did this on purpose. It's vague on purpose in order to smear Clinton.

Since this is a presidential election in 10 days that this should be of highest urgency, especially since Comey put this out there and it will effect voters.

I think they are quite capable of getting this done quickly. Most commentators feel that there is probably nothing incriminating on Huma/Weiner's devices.

it is highly irregular to comment on an ongoing investigation....that is something that we have never seen before from the FBI.

So he is violating the DOJ practices and rules...they are not supposed to put this crap out so close to an election.

These are the narratives that better emerge over the next couple of days because this is BULLSHIT.

I'm sorry but they need to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to go through these emails and advise. This is the FBI I don't want to hear how they can't do it because of this or that.

as soon as it definitively learned that the emails existed, and the emails likely are being reviewed as we speak.

The question I have that no one is discussing anywhere is whether Anthony Weiner alerted the FBI to the existence of the email in order to cut a deal and save his own skin. He is pondscum and is facing some prison time and life as a registered sex offender. Huma needs to cut him loose immediately, and Hillary probably should cut Huma loose too. Huma probably should have been cut loose months ago.
