Yesterday in Michigan, Bill Clinton met a man whose grandfather knew his grandfather in Hope, Ark. "I almost wept," Clinton says.

1. Isn't it a small world

I worked with a guy who was from Hope Arkansas and had several common acquaintances with Bill Clinton.

I'm pretty sure he told me this story happened while Bill was President. One of these common acquaintances died, and he went to the funeral home for the wake. All of a sudden, with NO fan fare, President Clinton came into the room, sat with the family to offer his condolences, and then stayed to talk to everyone else. Everyone was shocked, for a second, but then the whole atmosphere was just one of friends gathering to mourn.

One more brief story. President Clinton came to Flint - don't remember what for - back in the 90's. On the way back to the airport his limo passed a line up of grade school kids, who were outside of their school waving and holding signs.

He made the driver stop and he jumped out of the car to talk with the kids. The Secret Service was scrambling, and not very happy, but he wanted to give these kids a memory they would never forget.
