SHOUT OUT TO ARIZONA DEMS: Are you contacting provisional ballot voters and getting them to return?

Anyone from Arizona out there? I understand that there are many thousands of provisional ballots yet to be counted and that thousands of people who didn't have the right ID need to come back by Nov. 14th with the right ID to make their vote count. Are the Arizona Dems and national Dems ON THIS, getting the word out, working the phones and the ground, and making sure these voters are getting what they need and getting back to make sure those votes are counted? Ron Barber's congressional seat, for example, hangs in the balance here.

4. Pima County to resume ballot count Monday
Mon Nov 12, 2012, 08:46 AM
Nov 2012

The Pima County Elections Department will resume counting approximately
3,000 early ballots Monday morning, Nov. 12.

The count is expected to begin at 9 a.m., with the batch completed by the early afternoon.

Elections staff may count additional ballots in the afternoon, depending on the
amount of ballots readied for tabulation.

In the interim, the Recorder’s Office continues working to verify the approximately 27,000 provisional
ballots issued at the polling places. The office has until Nov. 16 to finish verifying those ballots.

(please note, Prescott is 50+ miles away and impossible to reach without a car and 3-4 hours round trip not including wait time at the courthouse. I posted this on my Facebook)

Attention All Democrats!! Please read this important announcement from the Secretary of State!!

There were 3000 provisional ballots cast in Yavapai County. If you or anyone you know voted a PROVISIONAL BALLOT, you must report to the Yavapai County Elections Office, 1015 Fair Street, no later than Wednesday, November 14, with your appropriate ID.

Ballot Processing – County Update

Phoenix, AZ – Secretary Bennett has announced that as of Thursday afternoon, there are an estimated 631,274 early and provisional ballots statewide that are yet to be processed and counted.

A state canvass to certify official election results for federal, statewide and legislative races is scheduled for Dec. 3.

Voters who cast a “conditional provisional” ballot (individuals had insufficient identification when they went to vote at a polling place) have five business days, or until the end of Wednesday, Nov. 14, to return to their county elections office with proper ID.

***Yesterday we erroneously stated the deadline for voters who cast a provisional conditional ballot to provide ID was Nov. 13. The date is actually November 14, due to Veterans Day.***

I didn't cast a provisional ballot, so I wouldn't be contacted. I was contacted to see if "I" knew anyone, so I assume the party in Prescott is on it. (Prescott is the Yavapai County seat)

I wonder if he can actually get buses out there to help on this. This is not just partisan, it is a civil rights issue. This was deliberate suppression of the vote.

One question is whether the numbers - and the % Democrat - could even change the Senate election.

Many of the voters that appeared to be Hispanic were shifted to the provisional ballot line to speed up processing. (How is this different from the "separate but equal" line of reasoning in the bad old days). Lots of them probably had proper ID with them but they were never asked to produce it in the provisional ballot line. Now they have to go back a 2nd time with their ID again for the ballot to be counted, thanks in large part to Sheriff Joe. Who is to say that didn't happen in other Counties as well.

9. CD2 Update: Barber Leads McSally by 330 Votes

Nov 2012

As of Sunday night, Congressman Ron Barber leads Republican challenger Martha McSally
by 330 votes, following a report of new vote totals from Cochise County.

Pima County did not count votes today.

This was the first time that Cochise County has delivered a new vote count without McSally
taking the lead back from Barber in the race.

20. IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: Provisional Ballots / Voter Incident Reporting

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: Provisional Ballots / Voter Incident Reporting

Greetings!

Politicians have create such confusing rules to vote in our Democracy, not even the election workers can apply them equally for free, fair and accessible elections.

We want to provide some clarification for those who voted a provisional ballot and to those who need to follow-up with ID.

This may not apply to you but please share this information with others
so those who need the details might get them in time. The deadline for voters who must provide ID is 5PM, Wednesday November 14th. Here we go...

If you voted any type of provisional ballot, you should have been given a receipt indicating whether or not you presented acceptable ID to establish your identity (not to be confused with confirming your address).

If 'NO' is indicated on the receipt, your ballot will be counted only on the condition that you present ID at specific locations by 5pm, Wednesday, November 14. You should have been told this, and you should have been given a list of acceptable ID to bring, plus a list of locations that will accept it.

If 'YES' is indicated on the receipt, you don't have to do anything. (In Maricopa County, if neither one is circled, we have been told it is counted as a Yes, and you don't have to do anything. For other counties, contact your recorder/elections dept. for their procedure.)

Click HERE for a list of acceptable IDs (applies in all counties): http://recorder.maricopa.gov/pdf/AcceptableID.pdf

List #1 now includes the Arizona medical marijuana card.

Maricopa County Elections Department told us that utility bills in electronic format, such as on a smart phone, are acceptable.

In Maricopa County: Click HERE for a list of locations that will accept ID by 5pm Wednesday: http://recorder.maricopa.gov/pdf/IDVerifSites.pdf

In Pima County: Go to a County Recorder's Office or call (520) 724-4350 for alternate locations. More info HERE: http://www.recorder.pima.gov/default.aspx

For all counties, click HERE for contact info: http://azsos.gov/election/county.htm

Contact elections officials if you have any questions.

Next, we need to document PROBLEMS AT THE POLLS ON ELECTION DAY.
Voters who had an ID from List 1 with an address that didn't match in the signature roster should have voted a regular provisional ballot and the receipt marked 'Yes'. If a voter tried to use an electronic form of bills on List 2 via a smart phone or other device, it should have been accepted. We know these rules and others were not applied correctly at all polls on Election Day and we need voters to report these cases.

Please take time to fill out an incident report. We're compiling this information for use in possible litigation and legislation to protect voters and ensure our elections are free, fair and accessible. If you know of an incident where a voter had difficulty at the polls, please complete a voter incident report or get the voter to complete one.

*** COMPLETE OUR VOTER INCIDENT REPORT HERE: ***

Arizonans deserve free, fair and accessible elections.
Don't let politicians steal them by blocking voters with confusing and unnecessary election laws. Join us and fight back.

24. Action Alert!!!!
Mon Nov 12, 2012, 01:45 PM
Nov 2012

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Big Protest on Thursday
County Recorder's Office, 3rd Ave and Jefferson

Actions to Keep Pressure on County Recorder Regarding Thousands of Uncounted Ballots.

A number of organizations met on Saturday and agreed on a schedule for actions this week to keep the pressure on County Recorder Helen Purcell. We need as many people as possible to turnout for these actions.

We are especially interested in providing examples to the press of real people who encountered difficulty voting on election day, did not receive their ballot in the mail, was not included on the voter list, etc.,. If you have any examples or stories that falls into any of these categories please contact me at [email protected]

Action Plan:

Tues, Nov. 13th @ 4:00 pm - County Recorder's Office, 3rd Ave and Jefferson

Wed, Nov. 14th @ 9:00 am - Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 203 W Jefferson

Wed, Nov. 14th @ 4:00 pm - County Recorder's Office, 3rd Ave and Jefferson

Thurs, Nov. 15th @ 5:00 pm - Large Scale Protest at County Recorder's Office, 3rd Ave and Jefferson

Thank you all for helping us sustain the pressure. There are still over 300,000 ballots that need to be counted and thousands of voters who did not vote because of mistakes made by the County Recorder's Office. Thanks again for your support.
