going to play right into trump's hands?
There is implied anti-Muslim innuendos been spewed about the internet. This is just a little bit too convenient.
There have been alleged tweets from this jerk which seem to imply his support of Hillary, and while I do NOT believe for a moment in his sincerity of that, I do think it is possible that this, along with the Minneapolis mall, and the NY bombing could be part of a scheme by terrorist elements to try and help trump, in the hope that he will start a war between the USA and the Muslim world, to create their holy war wet dream
I know that may sound far fetched, but I wouldn't put it beyond these sickos in their illusions of grandeur

(92,595 posts)to say that I do not think a lot of Americans think soundly. This very likely will come up in the debates, and it will be linked to immigration, the screening of Muslims, etc.
I can think of good substantive answers that Hillary can make, that might resonate. The one that comes to mind was the mass killing, which was an act of terrorism, by dylann roof at the Church in Charleston.
This is not going to wait a couple of weeks. Monday is the debate. Washington authorities are not ruling out terrorism. This comes right on the heals of the Minneapolis and NY/NJ incidents.
George Bush won reelection on the terror theme. The stupidity of the American people cannot be underestimated.

(5,811 posts)BirtherTrump has hotels in Turkey. It is very very suspicious because apparently his twitter feed indicated he was a Hillary supporter. Don't get worried just pay attention.
BTW, at least two of the people he killed were relatives

(92,595 posts)think it will be brought up, and if it is, they need to have a good response to counter Trump's response which I have no doubt will involve a violation of someone's Constitutional Rights.
One answer is to point out the abortion clinic bombings, or mass shooting of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado. Those were also acts of terrorism, as was the dylann roof mass killings in the African American Church.
I think there are enough examples to counter that argument

(5,811 posts)He is a permanent legal US resident and cannot vote in federal state or local elections even though expressed support for Hillary and that he would vote for her.
He was born in Turkey and is 20 years old.
Trump owns hotels in Turkey. Apparently trump does business with ME folks who are Muslim in the ME. A Saudi who is Muslim helped Trump survive a bankruptcy by buying some of his debt and property
This whole thing is very very fishy

still_one
(92,595 posts)said he wants a way to identify who are Muslims. I doubt he will be stupid enough to bring that up in the debate because Hillary can come right back with the yellow star of David that Jews were forced to wear in Nazi Germany to identify them
I think keeping things in perspective is a good approach, a perhaps as part of that bringing in other act of terrorism in the country that were not Islamic related

(109,031 posts)Here are some posters on a pro-gun site, in the act of discovering that the alleged WA shooter was raised by a Christian stepfather, who was ex-military and pro-gun and pro-Trump. (Someone mistakenly calls him a "father-in-law" instead of a stepfather, but someone else corrects him.)
Cetin also, according to other sources, allegedly got his gun from his stepfather's house.

He would fit right in with the majority of ARFcom."
"Anyone recognize the artwork above the dude on the couch?"
"Pretty sure it's Byzantine iconography depicting Gabriel and Mary.
It's something you'd find in the home of someone who's a member of the Greek Orthodox or Byzantine Church."
"Not a Muslim household. Doesn't mean the kid wasn't acting out after reading some jihadi shit online though."
"Damn, the Trump stuff on his step dad's page is going to be huge by Monday. The major media is going to eat it up"

I think the twitterverse assumed he was Muslim and he may be. I think the key to this story is that the weapons he used to kill those people belonged to his stepfather and he allegedly stole them and the ammunition - 1 rifle 2 handguns
very strange

(92,595 posts)at the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Colorado. How about dylan's roof slaughter of those at the church in South Carolina. Those were motivated by a religious ideology and racism also.
Does that sound far fetched to?
Those are also acts of terrorism that have occurred in our country

Hillary. IOW, it was a bargain with fate joke. Like saying, "I will do anything if I can have this thing that I want. ANYTHING! Why, I would even do X"--with "X" being something that the person would never want to do in a million years.
Unfortunately, I have seen a LOT of people completely misreading that tweet, so of course the "He supports Hillary" misreading is going to go viral and be spewed by every mouth online and in the MSM.
He is a conservative. He thinks liberalism is the same as communism.
His friend from a rifle club said he was a rifle club/JROTC conservative.
In response to a letter in the Whidbey News-Times in May 2013 praising President Obama and Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Cetin commented that the pairs liberalism sounds like Communism.

Not everyone in Turkey is Muslim.
I also think that tweet was a kind of bet -- IF he wins, then he'll vote for Hillary. Meaning: if he's lucky enough to win, then he'll EVEN vote for Hillary. That is certainly ambiguous, however.

I have no idea what is going on in his twisted mind, or in the mind of those who did the Minneapolis Mall attack, the NY/NJ bombing, the Orlando and San Bernardino shootings
pnwmom
(109,031 posts)the Christian minorities in Turkey are likely to. Also, 98% don't marry people named David Marshall and emigrate to America. This isn't a typical Turkish family.
My impression of this young man is that his posts are all over the place -- it's like he's trying on almost every idea and religion for size. (He also had a photo taken beside a Buddha.) I think he also loved to be sarcastic -- so that's really going to confuse things, if readers read a sarcastic post and think it's serious.
But his stepfather's FB posts are very clear. He's a RW, ex-military, 2 amendment, gun proponent. And the police allege Cetin got the guns from this man. And there are multiple pictures of him posing with guns as a younger teen.
I saw one other thing that made me wonder about his state of mind. His own FB post said that a Turkish relative had molested him when he was a little boy, younger than 7, before his father married his mother and moved him here.
A childhood trauma like that could cause terrible damage. Combine that with being brought up by his pro-gun stepfather, and he was probably a powder-keg.
And there are reports he was shouting a woman's name.
I bet this had little to do with religion, but we'll find out.

(92,595 posts)the American public has very much critical thinking skills or just plain common sense
The "populism" of trump has made it all too clear what a bigoted and sexist nation we are.
George W Bush won his second term against Kerry in no small part to the fear and terror factor.

Doesn't sound like a devoted, let alone extremist Muslim. Sounds more like a mixed up, disturbed kid with mental issues. He was charged with assaulting his step dad. Former high school classmates have been posting experiences including sexual harassment by several girls.
