Yes, I am a strong Hillary partisan, and no I am not ashamed of it.

If you are an immigrant, a person of color, a foreigner in any sense in this country (even in the sense that you are born in Hawaii, but because of the color of your skin, a significant part of the country thinks you are from Kenya), this election feels like an existential threat. So yes, I am more likely to snap at people who I believe are not supporting her, whether here or IRL this election is a threat to me, and I am reacting to it as a threat.

There have several posts on DU wondering why people are not more gracious about attacks (which inevitably they think are constructive) on HRC, people under existential threat should not be expected to graciously deal with your hand wringing nonsense.

I support her, I want her to be president, i already think the media criticizes her way too much, and I don't want to deal with such nonsense on DU.

And I am with HER, too!

Anyone who talks about 'holding their nose' or voting unenthusiastically has not examined her record at all, and they have bought, hook, line and STINKER, the right wing memes. Either that, or they're fishing for fights and disunity.

That I have said I'd hold my nose and vote for her in the past.
Now, I don't feel that way. I'm stoked that she's the nominee and I think she's gonna win in an historic landslide.

in my opinion. It's easy enough to post that way and stay clear of TOS violations and hidden posts, but such "constructive" criticism is still negative toward Hillary's candidacy, and tends to diminish enthusiasm. Since GOTV activism definitely requires enthusiasm, such posts also discourage people from doing GOTV, even on a small scale. And by small scale, I mean talking up voting for Hillary among close acquaintances and friends. GOTV isn't just canvassing and phone banking. It depends, too, on those casual conversations we all have with people we know.

I think she has been treated horribly by the press. They never take the time to do their homework. They repeat what is popular on the internet posted by anyone who has a device. I will hear things that I even know are not true. We might as well be listening to Rush Limbaugh for news.

And many people I have met are hugely relieved to be able to openly talk about supporting Hillary.
I had to tell my poker friends the Hill hatred is verboten during friendly games, because I have had enough. She has done a lot of good for many.

Watching you listen to Trump accept the nomination deeply affected me- as I had long ago forgotten the labels other people put on you, and see instead a sister. That night I was reminded of the hatred and irrational fears. I don't allow anyone to write off the Trump candidacy as a joke anymore. I have left more than one angry young man sputter off, less likely to forcefully spew bullshit in the future. Not having it.

and the one thing I have noticed more and more lately is this balls out anger designed to silence others. Amazed it happens in the NYC area, and I smile and laugh and assure them I have done my homework and know my values, thank you very much- so spare me your bulging veins and glares. Take em somewhere else, assholes.

So many people I love are at risk during this election, both now and in the future, just because of who they essentially are. I won't tolerate scoldings about hurt feelings on behalf of other candidates or political agendas. I don't want people to be physically or otherwise assaulted because of Trump's candidacy. I also don't want to see people suffer because of the agenda he will bring successful. We are better than this. I want Hillary to be president. cutting her down as a candidate will gain nothing for those who do. Stronger together.

And if no longer be tolerating them in my home. Told them they were intimidating other guests and I was fed up. Honestly they go off the rails and never notice they are ranting endlessly boring everyone who knows better to think the emails or fracking in Florida is the real reason for their discomfort.
Had a guy who cheats on his own wife going on about the Clenis and I said buddy, that's a road you of all people don't want to go down. I listened to this crap for a year and I am done now. Said go join "a brand new congress" and report back- or shut the fuck up.
It's easy to destroy and much harder to get anything done. At this point they are part of the problem.

I kind of think that is what they want. As more see how smart caring and strong she is, they just can't help wanting to tarnish her rep. To prove to themselves she was wrong all along. They want payback due to bruised egos. Fuck that. Cannot put their egos first right now. They can get in the back of the bus or get off. Don't care.
