Bloomberg's speech was the most damning of all to Trump because...

They both are wealthy businessmen who appeal to Independents and Middle America. This coming from a Democrat is scoffed at. But this coming from an Independent is compelling and provocative. He destroyed #TraitorTrump tonight. Eviscerated him!

Listen to his speech again:

It's a scathing indictment! And it's more compelling coming from Bloomberg (a self-made man) who is well-positioned to speak on issues related to business and industry. And to reach Independents and maybe some corporate-leaning Republicans.

He certainly does not hold the same views as most of us do, certainly in the convention, but he pointed out the danger of Trump.

his line about nominating someone who is "sane and competent". That'll sting hard, especially coming from him who not only is an Independent, but is a former Republican.

Clearly defined himself as an independent, I admit, it ruffled my feathers. But as he kept talking, the pieces came together and I saw what he was doing and why he was saying what he did. He definitely apealled to a different crowd not in that arena. And that, I can appreciate. A big hearty thank you to Mr. Bloomberg for that wonderful speech.

Bloomberg comes from a lower middle class family. He built his fortune (45 billion) by creating a business that provides a vital service and doing it better then his competitors. Bloomberg is the type of businessman that Trump pretends to be.

but yeah, totally different backgrounds and different in terms of what kind of business persons they are also. trump was also mostly a failure but the media doesn't do their job of reporting these things.

the media will present them as equal and bloomberg going after him in this area is more effective than most others doing it.

He can appeal to independents and sane republicans better than we can, and he did absolutely eviscerate him!

Bloomberg is everything Donald will never be and he represents the NY establishment rich that Donald has spent his entire life trying to impress.

Seriously, Donald has been trying to be a big shot to the NY Jet Set since he was a little boy, and this is his getting told to "go get your shine box boy (Movie reference)" in front of all the cool kids. It was the ultimate slap down and the type of thing that will keep Donald up at nights until his dying days.
