Thoughts of a Young Democrat
I'm probably one of the younger dems on this site (24 yrs old) and in my lifetime 3 of the top 4 speeches at Dem conventions have been given by the Obama family
1. Pres. Obama speech tonight- just beautiful. I had tears down my eyes. I feel reinvigorated. I was starting to doubt Sec. Clinton's chances but I am so optimistic now. We WILL win. I also loved how he gave Bernie Sanders his moment.
Tonight Pres. Obama was like Lebron in game 7 when he ran almost the full distance of the court to make that gamechanging block- he has changed the entire election tonight. HELL YEAH.

2. Pres. Bill Clinton's speech in 2012 convention- The best salesman of our time. Pres. Obama was in precarious situation- polls were tightening. Mitt was starting to breathe down his neck. The team was struggling to make the argument. and Pres. Clinton sealed the deal. The way he spoke about mundane topics and made them so interesting was amazing. He made talking about the budget cool. Also rmr his speech was competing directly against NFL game that night- and guess what? on my facebook feed all of my young millennial friends were captivated by that speech. What a man!
3. Pres. Obama speech in 2004. As a middle schooler the first real speech that I heard. I got interested into politics because of that. As son of two immigrants who have sacrificed so much for me, that speech made me thing- maybe I, too, can reach that stage one day (and yes my goal is to one day run for congress)
4. FLOTUS speech this year- I cannot even put into words how beautiful it was.
Over the last few months there have been many disagreements on this site....but let tonight be a reminder that we are ALL democrats. Yes we will not agree on every issue but that is what makes our party different than republicans who blindly follow their leaders.
I love you all! We must unite in this time- a time when families like mine sincerely fear the repercussions of a lunatic fear mongering white supremacist getting into power. Let us work together to make sure Hillary Clinton wins the election! Let's make sure that Bernie Sanders revolution continues- we must work to take over the govt. at all levels!
