Did anyone else feel bad for Mitt up there?

Look, I realize he's a sh*t person, and he's done some sh*t things, but if you're human at all, you gotta feel for someone that has to concede after spending years on a campaign like that. Maybe this is because I am such an emotional creature, but what a tough moment. No matter who you are, you gotta have serious cojones to project stability in a moment like that. I credit him for doing the right thing and calling it early, and praising Barry on his way out. Poor guy.

That being said, I am SO HAPPY that we don't have to worry about the world blowing up every second of every day for the next 4 years. I can breathe easy.

But the human in me felt bad for Mitt. I thought he was truly going to be an *sshole and fight this for months and he ended up doing the right thing.

Sitting next to my significant other, we wondered what kind of campaign could have been waged had Romney actually stuck to the real courage of his convictions. Been proud of things like Romneycare and Obamacare. Been proud of being for women's rights. Etc.

So I felt sympathy that the Republican party is so effed up that one has to abandon their core values to fit in. And I felt anger that Romney put on this farce of a campaign to begin with.

Even Obama took the time today to congratulate him on a good campaign run. Romney was too busy to even thank the president and wish him well in return. Not cool. Scary thing is that Romney really didn't think there was a possibility that he could lose. Wow. I'm sure even Obama must've had a concession speech ready - just in case - and he's only the president. I probably feel some pain for Romney's wife and family, if anything.

He got corrupted in his desperate attempts to win the White House. He sacrificed all his principles. Maybe now that the country has rejected him, he can go back to being Moderate Mitt for real (pro-choice, pro-gay rights) and work to advance this nation in a positive direction. I would support him if he did.

He made his fortune dismantling companies and putting people out of work, has avoided paying his fair share of taxes for many years through offshore tax havens, and on and on. He was only "Moderate Mitt" because that was what worked for him in Massachusetts. He knew exactly what he was getting into when he started running for president 6 years ago, and he still has his vast fortune to go back to.

Which you well know. And, to address your post saying "insiders" call him "Barry"? No, they don't. His wife calls him "Barack."

Barack Obama was reelected. That isn't going away.

I canvassed for him in Arlington, VA. You can see that in my prior posts. Barry is a term of endearment. For me and many of my friends. I am sorry it reads to you as pejorative, it is certainly not intended as such.

122. "Barry" is a term of derision used by the Right Wing

I am not saying you and your friends are RWers, but that is NOT a term of endearment, and you should all quit using it stat, lest you want to be confused with Right Wingers.

111. He deliberately sought to make money by destroying people's lives. That's pure evil.

He rooted for wars that other people's children fought but was unwilling to send his own children. Pure evil.

The sense of entitlement on display but him, his wife, and his sons was appalling.

His campaign of deliberate lies that he continued to propagate regardless of the truth. Pure evil.

I'm happy that America woke up and saw Mitt Romney for who he is: an evil man!

No, I do not feel the least bit sorry for him.

He deserved to have rotten eggs thrown at him not sympathy.

I do feel sorry for the deluded campaign volunteers who worked hard for Mitt. I hope they review what happened in this campaign and realize how much they were lied to all the way through.

around here pickings will be slim. If he had projected that stability during the campaign, instead of being a lying hysteric, he might have done better.

He kept us up way too late. He shoulda just gotten out of the way with a few words and then goodbye and hustle that family off the stage.

Nobody decent likes you, Mitt. Just leave already. Get out of the way and leave us the f*ck alone and take all your smarmy staff like Dan Senor, with you.

I am tiring of defending myself against what was clearly an indefensible comment. I am not surprised that people disagree with me, but the vitriol from a group I have spent my time, money, and effort working to support really surprises me. Slightly redolent of Lord of the Flies.

The dead in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Those who went bankrupt because of medical costs

Those who died because insurance wouldnt cover their cancer treatment.

Those who are destined to a life of poverty because college was unobtainable.

Those whose drinking water is filled with carcinogens.

Those whose job was outsourced so a millionaire could make another million.

Mitt Romney can suck a duck. I dont feel sorry for him. He stuck his dick out and it got slapped. He wasnt some innocent person caught up in a bad situation...in fact, destroying the lives of innocent people is exactly what he did, and was PROUD of doing, as a businessman. Then he scolded them for not taking responsibility for their own lives.

Cry Mitt cry, you will be forgotten by history.
