I think Ted Cruz is bloody-minded enough to go third-party against Trump in the fall.

Even if it means going write-in, I can picture the guy going there.

His chances of ever winning the 'Thug presidential nomination are gone forever now.

He is sick of the Senate by now(and the rest of his caucus is sick of him).

He realizes he'll be primaried if he tries to run for re-election.

And Trump threatened to slander Cruz's wife and all-but-accused Cruz's dad of being in on the Kennedy assassination.

This is a guy who no longer has anything to lose or anywhere to go politically, a guy who has the potential to become the "Honey Badger" of this election.

I think Cruz is fully prepared to go down in flames on a minor-party or no-party ticket just to stick it to his party for rejecting him anf his party's nominee for dissing his family.

Watch for it.

Watch for it.

I doubt he could get on many ballots this late in the game.

He's setting his sites on 2020. He wants Hillary to win so he won't gave to buck the GzoP and run against a sitting GOP president.

2. He could go write-in, or talk the Constitution Party into letting him use their ballot line

(they're on the ballot presidentially in most states.)

Whatever happens to Trump, Cruz will face a strong primary challenge for his Senate seat, so he may not even BE a senator when the next election rolls 'round.

Cruz would have access to Florida, Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, and New Mexico. Their application is in process in Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

He would be on the ballot in lots of non-competitive states as well. If he did it, he would ensure a Clinton election.

The Constitution Party would be a logical place for him.

Plus Ted Cruz believes he's been anointed by God to be president (his father old him that, so it must be true) so Ted will be gunning for 2020 when he can present himself (redeemed) as right about Trump.

I find this line especially relevant:

Maybe if we think, and wish, and hope, and pray, it might come true.
