Sanders seizes on Clinton’s email scandal in bid to sway superdelegate

In response to claims that he was flip flopping, Bernie explained: "Donald Trump and other Republicans will seize on it. There’s no doubting that.”

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/may/30/bernie-sanders-targets-hillary-clinton-over-email-/

Mr. Sanders — who famously said last year that neither he nor anyone else cares about Mrs. Clinton’s “damn emails” — over the weekend said party superdelegates should consider the issue as they weigh who to support at this summer’s Democratic convention.

He specifically hinted that a recent State Department inspector general’s report, which found Mrs. Clinton violated agency policy, could cause superdelegates to rethink their positions.

“It was not a good report for Secretary Clinton. That is something that the American people, Democrats and delegates are going to have to take a hard look at,” he told CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “I mean, everybody in America is keeping it in mind, and certainly the superdelegates are.”

The comments are something of a reversal for the Vermont senator, who has all but ignored the email scandal throughout the entire Democratic presidential primary. His refusal to attack the former secretary of state over her emails was a political risk; the issue plays heavily into voters’ doubts about Mrs. Clinton, who is widely seen as dishonest and untrustworthy.

From the office of the president to the dog catcher.

If it is even a 5% risk why do it?

who could find the 31,000 deleted emails. Granted, he's just talking to hear his head roar, but he's not going to turn loose of a political gift like this. Hillary's past statements about the private server being allowed and above-board will be the grist for endless attack ads, and she did it to herself--and us.

Hillary didn't do anything, least of all to "us".

But thank you for your concern. Should anything happen, Joe Biden is willing and able to run in her place.

And if she did, why talk about Biden? He's run for President before and done poorly. The idea that the Party can successfully replace Hillary with someone who hasn't even been running in this primary and win the GE is ludicrous.

John Dickerson asked Bernie Sanders about it.

Sanders responded by talking about issues such as inequality and expanding Social Security, gave that brief innocuous answer about the emails, and then went back to talking about the issues.

There's nothing Bernie can do that would be half to damaging to her candidacy. Calling Bernie a jerk won't make Hillary less of a dumpster fire.
