Let’s blow up the Democrats: The Sanders coalition is the future — but requires a third party
PAUL BLEST

The idea that Bernie Sanders might mount a third-party or independent run has little basis in reality. Sanders himself has said as much. He’d have to fight a legal battle to gain access to the ballot in “sore loser” states or others that throw up barriers to third-party runs. And seeing how the Naderification of Sanders has already begun, it’s hard to see what benefit there is to Sanders to split the Democratic vote and help elect Donald Trump.

1. Third party effort will have to wait.

Sanders is a Democrat, at least for now. A third party needs some time to organize. Four years of President Clinton will result in either a progressive coming in knocking out Clinton in the Democratic primary, or a progressive putting together a third party. Maybe both.

3. In fairness to the author he isn't advocating a third party run by Sanders

but I think he is wrong about, at least, the present base of the party. Clinton won more votes and it wasn't through trickery, bribery, fraud, or cheating. It was because, for good or for ill, the base of the party (blacks, women, gays, latinos, latinas, and others) voted for her in overwhelming numbers. She won large, double digit, victories in all but 4 of the largest 12 states with only 10 having voted thus far. Sanders won by a whisker in 1, she won a similarly close victory in the remaining one. It is likely she will win both of the last two and she is all but certain to win New Jersey by double digits. This is the stuff of commanding victories. Excepting the west coast she has won at least one contest in every region, Sanders got shut out in the mid atlantic and nearly did in the South. Even in his home region he lost the two largest states (albeit by small margins). She represents the base of our current party which is why she won.

reputation among Americans of every strata politically and otherwise? Consider this recent report... It's prescient...

The mood is solemn...

MSNBC To the deniers... Watch THIS Video... It is not comforting to think that she may well be the Democratic Nominee...

Hillary really betrayed Andrea Mitchell... The entire context of this report was of a solemn nature... A Funeral so to speak...

Andrea Mitchell "I do not see this report as ...ANYTHING BUT... DEVASTATING!"

Chuck Todd "After this I don't think that she could get confirmed for Attorney General!"

Lots of FIBBING by Hillary here.. for more than a year!
