Feinstein: ‘All but over’ for Sanders

Feinstein: ‘All but over’ for Sanders
By JON PRIOR 05/29/16 09:59 AM EDT

California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Sunday called on Bernie Sanders to consider suspending his campaign in an attempt to unify the party around front-runner Hillary Clinton.

“He ought to be able to read the signposts as well as anybody else, and if he did that, he would know that it's all but over,” Feinstein said on ABC’s “This Week.” “I know the passion of a campaign. I know when you're in it, and you just keep go, go, go until the last hour is there. Well, the last hour is close by.”

The June 7 primaries are simply too near for that. It doesn't matter, really. The people will vote an their choices will be counted. Delegates will be allocated and the nominee will be clearly known.

He needn't withdraw. The reality will be real on June 8. Then, we'll see what Bernie Sanders decides to do. I suspect he will see the picture and suspend at that time, endorsing Hillary Clinton as he does. But, I could be wrong. He may decide to fight a strange battle up to the Convention. It won't help him, however, with the super delegates. Not a chance.

You are sticking out like a sore thumb amongst her other supporters here.

He won't drop out before the convention, though. I don't know why people won't simply take him at his word! (He's not Hillary! )

instead of "until the convention." I listen closely to such things.

He'll be at the convention, of course. Odds are that he'll play the same role Clinton did in 2008, calling for nomination by acclamation. I will be very surprised if he does not. He's a career politician. He knows how it all works.

As for being reasonable, I try.
