Sanders on Clinton email server: Superdelegates 'keeping it in mind'

Sanders on Clinton email server: Superdelegates 'keeping it in mind'

Bernie Sanders is still not jumping on rival Hillary Clinton's controversial private email server but said a recent report condemning her actions is something voters and superdelegates will have to take into account.

"Now, you're right — the Inspector General just came out with a report, it was not a good report for Secretary Clinton. That is something that the American people, Democrats and delegates are going to have to take a hard look at," Sanders said in an interview on CBS News' "Face the Nation" Sunday. "But for me right now, I continue to focus on how we can rebuild a disappearing middle class, deal with poverty, guarantee health care to all of our people as a right."

A State Department report released last week said that Clinton broke department rules when she set up a private email server during her tenure as secretary, and the system would not have been approved if she had sought permission before setting it up.

"Well John, they will be keeping it in mind," Sanders told host John Dickerson when asked about the effects of the report. "I don't have to tell them that. I mean everybody in America is keeping it in mind, and certainly the superdelegates are."

Sanders recognizes it's probably time to care about Clinton's "damn emails".

Then I guess what we witnessed this week was thousands of people; media, politicians, voters suddenly believing in fairies.

...that the FBI won't recommend it.

There are instances in which they have no choice, and I think one of those happened here.

Bernie becomes more pathetic every day...it is like the old vaudeville movies where they used a hook to drag the person off the stage...we need a hook. Bernie, you have sued, insulted and pretty much worn out your welcome in the Democratic party...the supers always vote for the candidate with the most delegates...so after June 7th, it is bye bye Bernie.

... he doesn't need to push this issue, it has strong legs of it's own and it's only a question of time before it destroys any remote chance of the Clintons ever holding the WH again.

Electoral vote 520 17
States carried 49 1 + DC
Popular vote 47,168,710 29,173,222

And we know what type of person Nixon was. He was not a crook according to him.

If on Wednesday, it's still generating column inches of reporting, and column inches of op-eds by editorial boards, then I'll think it's got legs strong enough to wear boots made for walking.

"The worm has turned."

This isn't going away. It's a slow-motion train wreck that will only gain momentum. The drip, drip, drip is fast becoming a steady stream that will become a flood.

The only real question is whether the Democratic Party will allow this to take them down with her or get ahead of it and do the right thing.

The FBI will probably only recommend indictment if a foreign government got her emails.

The excuses why that's "so unfair" will be special.
