Susan Sarandon Pins Hopes For Bernie Sanders Win on Hillary Clinton Having ‘Health Issues'

Last edited Mon May 9, 2016, 11:57 PM - Edit history (1)

Even as the sands run out of the Bernie Sanders campaign’s delegate hourglass, the upstart Democratic presidential candidate’s surrogates continue to hope for an outcome that results in Sanders becoming the nominee instead of Hillary Clinton. One of Sanders’ most vocal and vociferous surrogates has now taken those hopes to a dark place. In a recent interview with Larry King, Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon said she’s still not ready to say she would vote for Hillary over Donald Trump, and told King that she’d “see what happens.”

Asked what could happen to give Bernie the nomination, here’s what Sarandon said:

So many things. She could have health issues. She could not get the nomination.

8. From "Game Change":
Mon May 9, 2016, 11:21 PM
May 2016

"Clinton mentioned that she found the calls for her to leave the race strange. 'Historically, that makes no sense. ... I've been around long enough. You know my husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.' ... The cause of the uproar was a fresh story on the website of The New York Post, whose reporter ... wrote of Clinton, 'She is still in the presidential race, she said today, because historically, it makes no sense to quit, ... making an odd comparison between the dead candidate and Barack Obama.' Clinton, of course, had made no such comparison, but the horse had left the barn."

Right wing smear.

Both sides could be doing this. One side is not. It is ugly. But then, it has been said enough and too many Sanders people just refuse to get it. Damn lucky us Clinton supporters are better than this.

The snide, nasty personal attacks? The innuendos and sneering? The "oh, you've been here twelve years, but really you are just like the Republicans" comments that make talking with you such a joy?

Seriously, why ASK to go on ignore instead of just doing it yourself, other than to be unpleasant? If you had been on ignore, I wouldn't have seen your smear implying that I was ill wishing their health. Feel free to use it, and I'm done for now, but don't think you've brought anything positive to the board today because you didn't.

Sigh. I'm in a grumpy mood tonight. If I've been inappropriate with my attempts at humor at your expense, I apologize.

Have a nice night.

If Hillary for any reason had to release her delegates, they wouldn't just disperse into the ether. She'd have to release them to someone, and that someone would be Joe Biden or John Kerry.

Bernie still loses.

My opinion of Susan Sarandon has gone straight down hill since I heard her absurd call for a Trump presidency.
