It's that simple...

(1,134 posts)I love it. Dude lost the race a while ago I'd say but anyway you look at it it is impossible for him to win Ohio with 7 says out. Frickin florida is tied in ANOTHER poll and Dems are now leading all of the early vote including absentee in only three days. He has lost media coverage and it won't come back. There will storm follow up the entire week.So not only has Romney lost he's lost to a STORM. It's like he doesn't even exist now. And I fucking love it.
This WAS the october surprise. It will be a 347 victory for Obama. The nation rallies around the incumbent during any crisis and I believe independents will break for Obama hard.
It's like Romney got snuffed out like a candle.
Buh Bye Mittens, we really knew ye.

(1,720 posts)Most of the US is not struggling with weather problems. There are plenty of states he can campaign in that would not imact storm relief.

(10,847 posts)It is STUPID for him to be in full blown campaign mode but to say that he shouldn't is ridiculous. Go for it, Romney. Let's see how that works for ya.

(1,720 posts)Get real. This isn't about respect.
Ours is a huge country. When tornados blow through Oklahoma and Texas, or wildfires rage in Colorado and California or there's flooding along the Mississippi, life does not stop elsewhere in the country.
What is the issue is this: You don't want Romney to be able to campaign. Now, that's bullshit. He can- and should- campaign where ever he wants so long as his presence doesn't interfer with ongoing rescue efforts.
The fact is you are trying to create an issue to reflect poorly on him when there is not one to be had.

(3,003 posts)...you know damn well that all of the GOP party hacks are huddled in a conference room right now trying to figure out how to best exploit the situation with the storm. Don't expect to see too much of Romney in the next few days, but watch out for a blitz of TV commercials.
Bad Thoughts
(2,531 posts)So long as he stays out of the way of relief efforts. If he decides to campaign in Nevada, it's fine by me.

(6,342 posts)If he wants to campaign, he can. It's up to the voters to decided if he's an ass for doing it.
For most of the United States today, it's business as usual.

I say let him campaign.

If he does nothing, Obama wins by looking/being presidential.
If he campaigns vigorously he looks like a twat.
If he goes halfway-house as he seems, he looks uncomfortable.
Regardless of the fact that he is an empty political vessel full of other people's detestable ideas, Sandy has been the worse thing that could have happened to his already-faltering campaign.
Cheers.
