And, if these were good times, that attribute might be sufficient to re-elect the Republican junior senator from Massachusetts.
But these are not good times. Far from it. While the economies of the Bay State and the nation are showing signs of strengthening, there is still much more work to be done to prevent the recovery from stalling. And, despite Browns claim that he is the most bipartisan member of the Senate, he has continually sided with the GOP on legislation that would reverse economic progress on issues ranging from health care to job creation and from tax policy to womens rights. We have no doubt that Brown would continue to support the backward-looking social and economic agenda espoused by the most conservative wing of his party.
For that reason, alone, he should be denied re-election. But there are other reasons as well.

(15,438 posts)that they're voting for President Obama but also for Brown against Elizabeth Warren. Yeah, right.
Mitch McConnell's rubber-stamp, Brown, needs to GO.

(28,473 posts)My Democratic son in Springfield dejectedly told me yesterday that based on what he'd been hearing around WMass he didn't think Warren had a chance. This endorsement made me giggle with delight when I read it!

(27,315 posts)They are a lot less conservative than their name suggests.
But your son is right. In the Western and Central part of MA, there are a lot more yard signs for Brown than Warren (I am not talking about the very west, more like the Springfield area, Chicopee, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow,...), but it is always the case.
I live in Southbridge and you probably see 3 Brown signs for 1 Warren sign. But it is always the case.

(28,473 posts)been gone since 2001. I don't remember The Republican being particularly liberal. But I do know the only black church in the country that was set on fire after Obama's election was about 2 miles from my son's home in Springfield. Which is why I've always said WMass is a good place to be from.
