The Oregonian/Elway Research: OREGON (Obama +6)

The Thursday-through-Sunday survey of 405 likely voters was conducted by Elway Research of Seattle, an independent polling firm, and has a margin of error of five percentage points, plus or minus.

Obama - 47

Romney - 41

President Barack Obama holds a relatively narrow lead of six points over Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Oregon, according to a new poll conducted for The Oregonian.

Obama's lead is considerably smaller than his margin of victory in Oregon four years ago and is a sign of how tight the presidential race has become across the nation.

In addition, the poll also found that an initiative to legalize marijuana, Measure 80 is failing, with 49 percent opposed and 42 percent in favor. Voters are even more strongly opposed to two pro-casino measures --82 and 83 -- that even their sponsors gave up on.

Secretary of State Kate Brown holds a 15-point lead over Republican challenger Knute Buehler, but more than a third of the voters are still undecided. And fully 53 percent of voters say they don't know whether they will vote for Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian or challenger Bruce Starr.

imo-And I don't know of Anyone whos voting for him. I can Assure you, Not one of my family memners and friends are.
I've met him and wouldn't have him in Any office let alone in a position of Protecting worker rights!

Brad Avakian-I know a friend of his and frankly-He epitomizes fairness and equality for everyone.
He's considerate of both sides of the issues and makes a thoughtful determination based upon facts, not corp interests alone.

I hope the rest of the elec in OR learns that before they cast their vote.
IMO-Putting Starr in this position is like putting a fox in the hen house!
I can also Assure you that One reason PBO isn't doing As well in Oregon this year is because of his relentless refusal to come to the table, with a briefcase full of Scientic Studies regarding the issue of Cannabis, as he committed to during the 2008 campaign.
I've been a bit worried. Many, many people are not voting, or are voting 3rd party-they feel the effects of broken promises. period.

As a 3rd Gen Dem-My Democratic "partners" whom we have sent to the State House(s) and DC had better Understand that we will no longer be satisfied with simply Sending you to office-We expect our seat(s) at the table too-At least enough seats for those who want to be involved-to Be Legitimately able to do so.

But I have to remind myself that Kerry only won OREGON by about 4 points, so Obama is still running ahead of the 2004 numbers.

Obama is up about 10 points in blue states like WA, OR, and CA. Romney is up 20 - 40 points in red states. Obama is running very well in purple states where he is exposing the fraud that is Romney.
