NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)The war of words between the two Democratic camps heated up over the weekend, as the Clinton campaign accused Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders of blatantly attempting to win the Democratic nomination for President.
Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press, the Clinton campaign spokesman Harland Dorrinson said that Sanderss actions in the past few weeks left little doubt as to what his true intentions arenamely, to be the Partys nominee.
Hes been raising money, hes been running in primaries, and, yes, hes been winning caucuses, the Clinton aide said. Its time for Bernie Sanders to come clean with the American people and admit what hes really up to.
Its deeply troubling that what appeared at first to be a purely symbolic candidacy has turned into something else entirely, he said.

(14,255 posts)how they feel - Bernie was supposed to be purely symbolic, and then hand his supporters over to Hillary.

(19,926 posts)"disqualify" and whatever else it was she said, it's clear she is extremely annoyed that he has gotten in the way of her expected coronation. Look, no other top Dems got in the race this year, why not? There had to have been an "understanding" within the Dem Party that she was to be the nominee. Then along comes Bernie, a true champion of the people, who stands up for them no matter what the establishment has decided. How dare he???

(22,336 posts)Although I think it would be funny in reverse too. I've heard people get upset that Hillary is "ambitious" and that she is spending to much time fundraising - i.e. is trying to win an election.
