FYI This was reported by a reporter in Denver: https://twitter.com/stanbushtv/status/718229050028879872
It was for a fundraiser at the Governor's house.

I'm sure you're really nice and hope I didn't hurt your feelings. I just miss Manny, that's all.

I'm sorry that's happening. I've seen certain ones do the same thing to others before, but it makes very little sense as to why. You're doing the right thing, if you keep alerting, reporting it, and ignoring, eventually it'll probably let up.
I hope you won't let it get you down because I like your posts.

(2,353 posts)I've just gotten to the point where if one user follows me 2-3 times I put on ignore, but alas then a new face comes and does the same thing, but I've got a pending post in Ask the Admins so hopefully something will be done about it. I've been accused of being multiple users and a republican. It makes them look sad though.

(2,353 posts)Why?
Total raised in direct contributions to each campaign, until March 31st:
--Bernie Sanders: $182,195,654
--Hillary Clinton: $176,503,224
Plain and simple. HFA is desperate.
Clinton's billionaire-backed campaign is being out-fundraised by "millennials" who "don't research". Last month she spend nearly $33M and only brought in $29.5M, and as we enter the most expensive media markets in the country, she's dumping in $900,000 worth of ad buys, in her home-state, where she's supposed to be cruising, with wide poll margins. Well, those margins are closing, and we can very well run her dry out of cash.
She needs to rely on big-money events like this one just to stay afloat, whereas we are changing the game altogether. She's gotta resort to hiding her speeches to rich donors by blasting static noise, while Bernie speaks openly of the change we need.
We have to out-spend Clinton in New York and we have to continue out-fundraising her in order to do so. Please pitch in $5 to Bernie. No fuzz. The Political Revolution speaks loudly and clearly.
Also on the reddit thread they are contacting the reporter to see if he will give them the full speech to see if they can remove the static from the video.

(3,014 posts)Is now some sort of incomprehensible voodoo science to you? After nearly 20 years in production, I can assure you that this isn't Sci fi. Noise cancellation has been around for a long time. And white noise is something you can induce with any program used to tune a PA.
In other words, every sound person you've ever met has something to induce white noise in their proverbial tool box.

(9,385 posts)She should never dare to use the word "transparency" again. WTF.
She's so overly concerned for secrecy about her talks to her donors, but was completely unconcerned about security for the State Department's communications and records that were her responsibility. Isn't that odd?
There's little doubt that she's saying something similar to her donors, to what Mittens said to his (the famous 47% comment).
SMH. Why anyone votes for her, is beyond me.

(10,476 posts)There are small devices for a room or office that will prevent people from hearing anything through a door, but do you people, seriously think that there are devices that can be mounted around an open area to generate "white noise" and prevent anyone not within the "Safe zone" or whatever from hearing?
This is truly wacky day on the DU, the youtube user either has a p.o.s. microphone or is joe jobbing you all deliberately to make Camp Sanders look foolish (note how comments on the video ares disabled), and so far, it is kinda working.

(2,353 posts)The concept of a directional speaker is pretty simple...
http://www.ultrasonic-audio.com/products/acouspade.html
But this isn't anything more special than a bunch of speakers pointed toward the perimeter blasting a white noise sound... There is nothing complicated here. You need to read up on signal noise ratio and why this works. If the other sounds (her speech) are far enough away from the speaker then the white noise can mask the audio enough to be inaudible.
Tarc
(10,476 posts)"White noise" does not "blast". If the person is that far away from the speech, they wouldn't hear anything anyways. There is no such device that will mask an outdoor speech. Period. Seriously, what do they teach in schools these days?
If you want to go down with the ship with the rest of the here, be my guest. I will bookmark this for posterity.

(45,319 posts)laser and parabolic microphones. Reporters too far away to hear a speech can easily pick it up on electronic devices, a layer of white noise fully interferes with that listening. You are entirely incorrect and apparently not even aware of the technologies used to listen or eavesdrop in today's world.

Different supplier:
NG, smart noise generator produces a white noise barrier controlled by embedded microprocessor and gives a permanent protection agains microphone and laser eavesdropping.
SNG is designed to neutralize all kinds of stethoscope, parabolic, beam and laser listening microphones. Application of a white noise is the only way how to stop the remote microphone attack in most of standard rooms.

(31,849 posts)does anyone think that a former SoS, in a post-"Romney's 47%ers" and current "run and tell it to You-tube and be a star" world, would say anything that would be damning (if repeated in context)?

(82,383 posts)She can be a bit of a gaffe machine at times. That's why they want the transcripts so bad. Still the idea she is telling the banksters all the things she is going to do for them and against the common man in return for their speaking fees is silly - if they think they will find something like that, they are nuts. They might find something to twist - though why they'd need to know what is in these speeches - don't they realize they have plenty of public utterances to tear into as exaggerate into ridiculousness?
