Rachel Maddow Take A Leave Of Absence Till The Primaries Are Over

You should not even pretend to be a journalist any more.

I mean it.

You are so Pro-Hillary and Anti-Progressive watching you gush over Hillary makes me want to vomit. I stopped watching your show. I can't take it any more.

Just take a leave of absence, and go to work for the Clinton Campaign officially, and when the primaries are over, you can go back to doing real news, not propping up a horrible train wreck of a candidate.

Just ask yourself Rachel. If the entire establishment, and the entire media wasn't supporting Hillary, how many delegates would she have? If journalists actually did journalism, and looked into the favors Clinton Foundation donors got. Forgot to forget about Mark Rich. I mean what would happen if someone did real journalism at MSNBC? It would blow people's minds now wouldn't it? Ain't gonna happen.....

Leave Rachel, before I puke.

There is much better investigative journalism on HBO's Vice. Their journalists actually go to some of the most dangerous parts of the world and put their lives on the line to tell the stories that you won't see on the Rachel Maddow show.

Rachel Maddow straddles the line between journalist and pundit, Vice is true investigative journalism.

They were comparing the recent ratings to a period of awful MSNBC ratings, which makes for a very favorable comparison. They said Fox is up by X% and MSNBC is up by 2X%, or whatever it was. What they were very careful not to do was to compare MSNBC's ratings with Fox's because Fox is still crushing them.

They basically implied Maddow was lying on her multiple nights of programming where she reported on their investments in Texas, South Carolina, and all the other places that they tried to pretend they never competed because they lost so badly.

If Sanders and his campaign staff had kept to the truth, she'd probably still be happily reporting good news for his campaign. Instead, they made her look foolish for reporting facts about the campaign that the campaign tried to be deceptive about later, and they cost themselves a media ally.

And then there was that interview with Bernie where he came off as a self-serving opportunist completely uninterested in down-ticket Democrats - and it was all Rachel's fault that he did so.

Welcome to the underside of the bus, Rachel - you'll find some great people under there to keep you company, i.e. ANYONE and EVERYONE who has refused to drink the BS Kool-aid!

They believe that the GOP would delve into every detail of BS's life looking for something untoward, and would come up empty-handed.

They believe that Bernie's entire life has been so pure, so honest, so without blemish or even a hint of scandal, the Republicans would just throw up their hands in frustration and say, "This guy's the real Messiah, and we have nothing to say against him."

Ya know, if only Jesus Christ had led as pure a life as Bernie Sanders, Pontius Pilate would never have been able to crucify him. The votes just wouldn't have been there.

Almost makes you want to say a novena to Saint Bernie - Patron Saint of the Politically Perfect.

Rachel, you gonna use the words "Mark Rich Pardon"?

Only cost him a million dollars, and how much did he save on his taxes?

From the Ethical Journalism Network, these are the tenets of journalism:

Truth and Accuracy

Journalists cannot always guarantee ‘truth’, but getting the facts right is the cardinal principle of journalism. We should always strive for accuracy, give all the relevant facts we have and ensure that they have been checked. When we cannot corroborate information we should say so.

Independence

Journalists must be independent voices; we should not act, formally or informally, on behalf of special interests whether political, corporate or cultural. We should declare to our editors – or the audience – any of our political affiliations, financial arrangements or other personal information that might constitute a conflict of interest.

Fairness and Impartiality

Most stories have at least two sides. While there is no obligation to present every side in every piece, stories should be balanced and add context. Objectivity is not always possible, and may not always be desirable (in the face for example of brutality or inhumanity), but impartial reporting builds trust and confidence.

Humanity

Journalists should do no harm. What we publish or broadcast may be hurtful, but we should be aware of the impact of our words and images on the lives of others.

Accountability

A sure sign of professionalism and responsible journalism is the ability to hold ourselves accountable. When we commit errors we must correct them and our expressions of regret must be sincere not cynical. We listen to the concerns of our audience. We may not change what readers write or say but we will always provide remedies when we are unfair.

EJN members do not believe that we need to add new rules to regulate journalists and their work in addition to the responsibilities outlined above, but we do support the creation of a legal and social framework, that encourages journalists to respect and follow the established values of their craft.

In doing so, journalists and traditional media, will put themselves in a position to be provide leadership about what constitutes ethical freedom of expression. What is good for journalism is also good for others who use the Internet or online media for public communications.

So by this metric, Rachel Maddow can only really be considered a pundit.

For truth and accuracy, this is predicated on the third tenet, both of which she can't really be said to support by dint of the second. So long as she's being paid by MSNBC, which is firmly in Hillary's pocket, she is not independent. Since she is not independent, she can neither be truthful, accurate, fair, or impartial. The only things she's got going for her are humanity and a vague inkling of accountability. Let's call a spade a spade here, she's no journalist. She's just a paid talking head in the vein of Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly, just with less invective.
