Bernie Sanders vows to back Hillary Clinton if she is the nominee

Friday, April 1st 2016 11:31PM
NEW YORK (WABC) --

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont kicked off his effort to win the April 19 New York Democratic presidential primary with a large, boisterous rally in the Bronx on Thursday night, highlighting his local roots and telling New Yorkers that he would work to make sure people have well-paying jobs, affordable housing and access to good public education.

On Friday the Senator continued to rally voters in New York and made a surprise announcement declaring that Hillary Clinton would also be a great leader, and if she wins the nomination he would put his full support behind her. The statement drew a mix of cheers and booing from the crowd of about four thousand.

Bernie has a lot of opinions. This is an example of one of few opinions of his that I disagree with. Tierra_y_Libertad Apr 2016 #15

Unfortunately, I know a few people who would have been among those booing. Fortunately it doesn't seem like the vast majority of his supporters are like that.

Edited to add: Your link doesn't say anything like that. Did you link to the wrong article?

Do you really think he was let into the club without a promise?

There is no mention of Bernie saying anything of the kind in the linked article. (Phew)
